Newcastle Fans Snap Up Ticket Allocation For Portsmouth

Newcastle United fans will again be supporting the lads down on the south coast for this month’s trip to Portsmouth, with Newcastle fans having already snapped up all of their 1,600 ticket allocation.

Newcastle United fans – best in the country

And that game will give us a chance to record our first away win of the season, and hopefully will follow a win at home against Stoke City this coming Saturday.

The trip to Portsmouth is Newcastle’s longest journey of the season and the KO time is early to facilitate full TV coverage. But once again the players will have good support when they play away, and we know they really appreciate that.

And Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear is now beginning to admit that he’s not surprised by the fantastic level of support afforded to his Magpies team.

Joe told nufcTV today:

“It’s incredible but it hasn’t taken me long to realize how good they are,” “The game is now on a Sunday and on TV but still our fans make the effort, they really are the best in the country.”

“Now all we want is another good performance on the road because we’ve had a couple of good draws recently, but it would be nice to get a win.”

The Portsmouth game has a 1.30 pm kick-off time at Fratton Park on Sunday, December 14.

We coulkd record two wins in a row – and that’s exactly what we need right now.

Portsmouth have the best home fans in my opinion (but perhaps we would if our stdium only held 20,000), whilst we have the best away fans in the country. Should make for a great atmosphere.

    canny point that fergie.
if newcastle had a 20/30k stadium typically designed for atmosphere then our ground would be loud! cause about 15/20k fans at st james’ are a joke! we have some proper fans though still!

I remember traveling to Pompey many years ago and believe the likes of Beardsley, KK, et al were playing. We played well and had a huge away win; something like 0-3; maybe an even bigger scoreline……

The beer was flowing on the return home!
