According to Opta Stats, fullbacks see more of the ball than any other position in a football team.
This may explain why we’ve had our major difficulties, as successive managers seem to have viewed the position as largely ornamental.
In Clichy, Bosingwa, Evra, etc. there are some marvellous fullbacks at other clubs. I reckon Beye to be one of the best RBs since David Craig. But we have no cover for him and have lacked a decent LB for years. And we never seem to produce anyone from our reserves to make any impression at full-back. What’s wrong with our coaching/scouting?

sheff utd fan here, and i really hope that we can hold onto him! one of the few players we have that whenever he gets the ball you think something might happen. several times in the last few matches he has won the ball in our own box and taken it all the way up the pitch and had a crack. needs to work on his shooting!

in the second half he often swaps with our right winger, and plays as an out and out winger. he’s very quick and very rarely beaten – lets just hope its not a flash in the pan and he can keep it up, he has afterall only played about 10 matches at even championship level.

I think this lad would be a great addition, he could be gret back up and learn his trade under Beye and also it could provide good cover for the centre half spot as Beye could be our forth choice centre back if needed

My mate is sheff utd fan and he told me bout naughton couple of weeks ago.suppose to be very quick and he thinks he will be the next big player for them.we need young right back,id say go for him.
