Oba Martins Maturing As A Person And Player

Oba Martins appears to have learned that being substituted during a match is part of the game of football these days.

Oba Martins – all smiles when substituted Saturday – we were ahead then

Hughton talked about Oba today:

“It’s all about emotions, and what Oba showed last week at Middlesbrough was that he was upset at being taken off, and sometimes you don’t mind that.

“But what he showed against Stoke was respect for the fact that there are reasons you make changes – and that’s what we would expect from him.”

Oba is a firm fan favorite at St. James’ Park, because not only is he a good player who scores goals, but he gives 100% for the team in every game, and has often waxed lyrical about Newcastle, and we all like to hear that from our players.  😀

But Oba’s still just 24 years old and still maturing as both a person and a player, but we wouldn’t mind if we can extend Oba’s contract at Newcastle.

But there again the Newcastle club now has 7 players whose contracts run out in the summer, so the Newcastle Board will have to handle them as the priority.

We wonder when the Board are going to even start on this?

Time is quickly running out and they seem to be doing ……. nothing.

    Is he really just 24?

Look at the pic…..im unsure about his age. I remember they had issues with it when he first came. If he is 24 he got a mature face aswell lol

The board arent moving, they’re useless as we’ve learnt. It could all be so easy but they’re idiots.

I remember before he first came the Nigerian football association put up on their website that he was born 1978 which puts him at about 30.

Looks closer if im being honest lol Either that or the guys just got a lotta wrinkles at a young age.

Then there was a big argument about it and the NFA apologized.

That’s a load of BullS**t ED… he was happy when he came off because we were 2-0 up and he (heaven forbid) thought we would win the game.- unlike Boro where there was still a job to do – and that might have involved scoring a goal.

Martins scores goals against the run of play… which is exceptionally useful for a team who can’t play through the middle when Barton is out……

WE NEED A TOP CENTRAL MIDFIELDER TO PARTNER BARTON… Guthrie is by no means a starter for every game at a big club at his stage. Butt is on his way out… Every thing else is trivial compared to this need….. some ideas.

    Affelay/Manco – PSV
    K. Richardson – Scum
    Park – Manure
    Luis Suárez – Ajaz
    Dyer – West Ham
    Pederson – Blackburn
    Skjelbred – Rosenberg

Affelay/Manco – PSV No chance in Afellay and Manco doesn’t even play much at PSV + he is very small.
    K. Richardson – Scum – Why? He is a winger, not a CM!
Park – Manure – Good but not great in CM.
Luis Suárez – Ajaz – He is a winger/AM/ST, no chance aswell.
    Dyer – West Ham – :l
Pederson – Blackburn – Been crap for 3 seasons and he is a winger.
    Skjelbred – Rosenberg – Maybe.

We need Mehmet Topal, he is the new Tugay.

Why are people saying bring back Dyer? Just so everyone can slag him off again?
While we’re on perhaps we can persuade Ginola to come back, along with Philipe Albert.

That down to martins tho jason? Or the fact the team has gotten worse while hes been here.

Hes only one goal behind adebayor, owen etc
Not doing badly for a striker in a team 4th from bottom. I dont remember him missing to many recently.

Our defence is the problem anyway not our strikeforce. Our goals scored tally is pretty good.

My friend in Nigeria is actually the cousin of Oba. He told me that Oba’s age is actually 12 this year. When he was 7 years old, he went into a time capsule that freezes time and trained his football in there. When he came out he actually looks and plays football like a grown up but he is in fact still 7. Inter didn’t know about this and signed him up.

I’m sure that you have witnessed his actions when he was substituted two weeks ago. That was an action of a 12 year old. Just trying to proof a point that this is not a rumour but a fact.

I am not suppose to tell anyone about this. Keep this to yourself. Especially about the time-freezing capsule.

Guys – thought Oba had a bone marrow test to prove that he was 23 when he moved – apparantly it was the nigerian FA cocking it up and he was really narked about it – hence his disinterest in playing for nigeria. I may have read this on 606 in which case it’s all bull but thought I’d throw this one in anyway.

His substitution was a bit of a joke – he and guiterez were our best player. I’m more annoyed at JK for the way he uses subs, he seems to have no idea and having 3 CB’s and 3 strikers on the bench is idiotic at best – surely we have reserves (Lua Lua etc) who could step in and do an effective job rather than moving defenders into midfield and therefore having at least two players playing out of position.
Viduka is past it as far as I’m concerned and we should get rid, he may have twinkle toes but he’s so slow my legless grannie could catch him with a full colostomy bag

So I spent yesterday coming up with a list I think we should get for each position. Firstly, If Michael Owen does move on, here are some strikers we should look at: (Age before Team name)

    Marek Hamsik, 21 Napoli
    Fabio Quagliarella, 25 Udinese
Vedad Ibiševi? 24 Hoffenheim (unlikely Bundesliga top scorer right now)
    Patrick Helmes 24 Leverkusen
Demba Ba 23 Hoffenheim very impressive player
    Fernando Cavenaghi 23 Bordeaux
    André-Pierre Gignac 23, Toulese
    Sergio Aguero 21 – Atletico
    Fernando Llorente 23- Athletic Bibao

    Michel Fernandes Bastos 25 Lille – LB/LM
    Lulinha, 17, Corinthians
    Mehmet Topal 22 Galatasary
Gonzalez Jesus Navas 23 – Sevilla
    Enzo Maresca 28 – Sevilla
Pedro Leon – 22 Real Vallidolid Attacking Mid
    Per Ciljan Skjelbred 21 Rosenburg
    Benedikt Höwedes 20 CDM Schalke

    Wayne Bridge 28 Chelsea,
    Leighton Baines 23 Everton
    Gonzalo Castro 21 Leverkusen
    Sebastian Boenisch 21 Werder Bremen
Jerome Boateng 20 Hamburg (Great defender – I’m sure he could play left back)

Christ Piers , you have set tomtoon a challenge there. Now he will have to watch all of there highlights on youtube so that he can share his wisdom on them all.

Unfortunatly it seems you have wasted your sunday as all of those players are quality and unlikely to have heard of the toon let alone want to play for them.

Piers we wont get over half those players.

AO – Check the archives I was the one saying Arda Turan was too slow to be a winger for us and that he was not worth the money.

Topal is a player we actually need, can hold the midfield and spready play brilliantly.

Hamsik (not a striker by the way), Cavenaghi (wouldn’t want him), Quagliarella, Castro, Boateng, Navas, Aguero, Helmes, Ibisevic = No chance.

Lulinha, Howedes, Leon = Never seen.

    Gignac = Not good enough.

    Maresca = Dont like.

Boenisch, Baines, Bridge, Skjelbred, Topal, Ba, Llorente = All good possibilities.

Go on AO, I said he was good before the euros, BUT I said there was a price that we shouldn’t go above, never mentioned him before we were linked and I repeatedly stated he was too slow.

    Now look for the archives.

thelongshanks- Ohara is young and not what i think you need in your situation. I have heard a 5mill fee is being discussed between the clubs. You are being ripped off imo as you could easily find a cheaper player of the same ability in any league in europe.

Hamsik is basically one, i mean he’s really an attacking mid but thats just the formation….he can absolutely play striker….Definitely first class.

Why would you say no chance to those players? Why not? If we want quality we are going to have to spend quantity?
