We are not the only Newcastle fans who are wondering what on earth the Newcastle United Board are doing behind the scenes.
Derek Llambias – Manging Director of Newcastle
We know that Dennis Wise, Derek Lalmabias and Dennis Wise had a meeting to discuss transfer targets on Tuesday, but it’s interesting that Joe has not commented on that meeting yet, other than to say he has transfer funds available, but doesn’t know exactly how much.
But the club doesn’t just have to get new players in during january, and perhaps even let one or two go to get fresh funds, but we have seven first teamers whose contracts run out in the summer, and we would have hoped the Board was doing something about them.
But are they? Or another good question is what exactly are they doing?
Surely the Board can get down to work for a month or two, and sign those players Joe wants to keep, because it will be several months now before the club is sold, and it is in Mike Ashley’s best interests to have the club in good shape to sell.
It isn’t in good shape right now, because we’re 4th bottom, our squad is not big enough, and we have several players who can talk to other clubs next month.
So is the board doing anything at all on these problems?
We have no idea, but if they’re not they had better start and start quickly.
And it would be nice too, if the Board could issue a statement to Newcastle fans, and let us know just exactly what is going on. Surely we deserve that, if only as a sign of respect to the great Newcastle fan base.
When I was at Management School at IBM some 30 years ago, we were told how important good communication was in business, and also that you just had to listen closely to your customers and exactly what they wanted, so you could then deliver what they wanted into the market-place.
Things have hardly changed since that time in business, but Mike and his friends do not seem to have gone through that same training.
Comments welcome.

Comment #41Erm, hate to break it to you, but Mike Ashley is still our owner, and doesn’t look like selling the club, so instead of being a bit childish and sour towards him, maybe we should worry about how this is going to affect the money going into our club.

Comment #42andy nufc……………thats the whole point man, he puts nothing into the club anyway and treats us like shit. you call 2 million in three windows good investment???? lets faceit, we are going to go down anyway, thats ok, i can take it and will still buy my season ticket as long as ashley sell us. the whole point raised initially by graemeR is perfect if you stop and think for a second. through ashleys own greed driven ways we have been run into the ground, all in the persuit of making a healthy profit at the expense of everytihng we hold true. our club is a shambles, its just good to know that in his never ending quest for raping our club and sticking it to us just for money he will end up loosing so much more. i hope he looses everything inc us. we will make it, someone would buy us and turn it around.
so please dont tell us about how it will effect money coming into our club cos none does anyway, it only goes out and that is a fact. why else do you think that the fat shit wont sell??? we are a cash cow for his ego and other crap companies.

Comment #45Ed, you have got it wrong. It was Dennis Wise, Derek Lalmabias and Dennis Wiser in the meeting.

Comment #47Don’t we mean what is going on behind the scenes about NUFC in London? Or did the poison dwarf (or Little Evil) actually come up to St James?

Comment #48It doesnt really concern me what they are meeting about and planning at the moment, I would rather not have the transparency thankyou either, even though they could never tell you what their targets are.
My only question is, if they have a plan good or bad, are these two capable of making it work?
Roeder would have been the best manager to have under Ashley, he is master of utilising youthful players and he bought Martins, but it is best we stick with Joe as it is to late in the day to change without causing more problems.
