Newcastle Just Need Rub Of The Green – Tony Adams

Some good words about Newcastle United Football club and since it’s not from Joe Kinnear or The Newcastle United Blog, we thought we’d better publish it – quickly.

Tony Adams – Newcastle need rub of the green

Tony Adams has said that he believes Joe Kinnear’s style of football can help Newcastle United force their way into the Premier League’s top 10 this season.

Portsmouth manager Adams remembers well the games he played against Wimbledon, when Joe was managing the London side, often referred to as the “Crazy Gang” in those days.

Kinnear brings his Newcastle United to Fratton Park tomorrow with the Tyneside club having gone four draws on the trot, two at home and two 0-0 results away to Chelsea and Middlesbrough.  But it’s still 5 games without a win for the Magpies – and we have no away wins at all this season.

Adams said today:

“His teams were very direct and physical and you had to get your helmet on playing against them.”

“Joe has earned the right to be there. I do not want to see anyone in this game lose their job and be left unemployed – it happens too often.”

“Newcastle just need to get a bit of the rub of the green, string some results together and they could be up there.”

“Maybe they will finish above Hull and stay in the top 10.”

Maybe we’ll get some of that tomorrow against Portsmouth and get our very first away win of the season – here’s hoping.  😀

22 points means safety? if that’s true then we only need to wins or 6 draws and means we need not buy new players in january, no?

    What did you expect.

West Brom are shocking, they got some great midfielder but their defence, attackers and goalkeepers are shocking.

surely we want those below us to lose. we need that cushion. hopefully west brom are starting to drift and blackburn, which eases the pressure a touch, but we need a win tomorrow

    1. I often overlook comments about players, not all the time, but around 50-60% of the time.

    2. I only remembered him because i have recently been looking at numerous players on my friends IMS account, and he was marked out as a player to keep an eye out for.

Tell you what wsq, if City did ever get sucked into it i couldn’t see the anybody aside from Ireland and Dunne having the character to get them out of the relegation battle. Would be hilarious…but highly unlikely eh.

it would be, yeah there is a little gap. if we win then you could say that the bottom two are starting to be cut adrift and then its 1 from a few but cmon its so tight still if we win, go 15th level with man city, we are then 4 points behind pompey in 8th. just shows how important those points against stoke and wigan are now

hmmm, no not all, just the parts i agree with based on what i have seen in the past, or in Jorgensens case, the highlights that were accessible from the site. I have seen a lot more good prospects since last night, the site is very insightful.
