Kinnear – I’m Very Proud To Be At Newcastle

If there a daft story in the papers it must be Sunday.

Joe Kinnear – laughs off reports he is interested in Sunderland job

And that has been true today again as Joe Kinnear has just laughed off stories that he has applied for the Sunderland job.

Joe Kinnear watched his Newcastle United side extend their unbeaten run to six games this afternoon, with a good 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, and will no doubt have a nice Xmas this year.

Although the lads on Thursday will be in preparation for the Boxing Day game at Wigan, which is of course important for the team, and we have to have a decent chance of making that three wins on the trot, not to get too greedy, of course.

Joe was asked about the reports that linked him with the Sunderland manager job today and Joe said:

“I think somebody has been at the Christmas sherry to be honest!”

“Every week there’s been a different story since I arrived.”  “I know nothing about them or where people get this stuff from.”

“Every day something is a headline in this part of the world.”

“It’s something you have to live with but it’s not a distraction to me in any way.”

“I’m at Newcastle and I love it and enjoy it and nothing is going to distract me from the job I’m doing.”

“I’m delighted to be here and I’m very proud to be here.”

Good words from Joe, and it’s obvious to most Newcastle fans, that the Irishman has the best job he’s ever had, and he just loves it at Newcastle United, and it’s really good to see that.

We think Joe wouldn’t have believed, in mid-September, that he would be managing the Newcastle club, now 12th in the league, to some good success of late.

Funny thing this game of football, as Joe will no doubt agree.

Comments welcome.

I have to agree that Joe has done fantastic job. Okay we had have couple of poor results, but so we did have for example last year. What i appreciate that playing is now quite entertaining if we compare it to Big Sam’s tactics. It’s also great to see Enrique and Zoggy playing such a good football!

f’in great win today .. it is a good litmus test on whether we are going to have to fight relegation .. on this showing we could be safe .. still need a few players in Jan but credit where credit is due .. kinnear subbed ameobi and showed he had some tactical know how .. well done.

I must eat my words man , I thought we would struggle against a rampant spurs how wrong was I . It makes me think there are a lot of mediocre sides in the premier and it just takes a run of four games to rise above them !
COME ON THE TOOOOOOON , keep it up JK..

When Joe was appointed i just wanted him to steady the ship and ensure we survive. However, since he has arrived he has exceeded expectations in almost all areas. Not only are we performing better, but we are also playing good football…on the ground! 😀 Who would have expected that from the former Wimbledon man? Also, since his arrival we have seen vast improvements from certain players e.g. Ameboi and Enrique. Yes he has made some mistakes, but what i like about Joe is that he learns from them and makes changes.

Joe Kinnear deserves credit for how well he has done so far and if we can finish this year unbeaten i will be over the moon.

course you are joe , your the manager of newcastle united !!
now keep your head down , stop peddling ashleys dross , and you might have a fair crack at a longterm contract come the end of the season .

results are great and the main priority , but i want a manager who will push the chairman tobe ambitious every step of the way , im not sure if thats joe yet … the last thing we need is someone who is happy with mediocrity .
this is your big chance joe so run with it !

ps. great game well done !

Has anyone noticed our defensive record -1 this equates to the 8th best record in the league.
This to me is where the important improvement has been made.
And dare i say the exclussion of a certain S.Taylor………

Terrific result today stadium went wild when Duff scored and I’m growing more and more fond of JFK by the week he’s just such a genuine guy and deserves the success over the past couple of weeks he’s just gotta ensure we keep our feet on the ground and I’d love 4 points from the next 2 games!! Please God!!!!

No Josh, not at all, he seems to have won over the majority of his doubter aside from a few stubborn ones 😀

His performances for the last 5 or so games has been good on average and i really don’t know how you still do not rate him. He did ever so well against Lennon today.

    spryoooooooo

ever so well? he was ripped apart, was beaten every time its just the fact that lennon has no end product which saved his ass. he wasnt tight enough to him all game the only time he managed to get the ball off him was when bassong came over to help him. he cant pass to save his life. but i’ll give him some credit….when he runs forwards with the ball he looks good, but defensivley…shocking. you’ve got to admit theres better left backs than him! hes good enough for the bench but with zog able to cover the left back slot i’d sell enrique to raise funds for a midfielder/striker/good left back.
