PSG Want Gallas Before Sakho Can Move To Newcastle

There is news in the newspaper Sport Today, that PSG want William Gallas from Arsenal, before the will let their 18 year-old whiz kid defender, Mamadou Sakho, move to Premier League club Newcastle.

Mamadou Sakho – PSG want Gallas first

The fee quoted for Sakho is 8M euro which is now around £7.6M, and maybe Newcastle have bid around £6M initially, since there are two players that Joe Kinnear said they were bidding for, who are valued at around £6M by Newcastle.

William Gallas is valued at around 5M euro (£4.75), and the report says that if they can get Gallas to PSG, they are then willing to let Sakho move to Newcastle United.

We have no idea what will happen with Gallas in January, but he will probably have bigger clubs after him than PSG, so it’s an open question as to whether he would want to move top PSG, if he wants to move at all.

We don’t know whether there’s much truth in the story, although it does link the youngster with Newcastle United, and there have been rumors that we are after the player, who we’ve been tracking for around 9 months now.

Comments welcome.

Does this mean”bye bye Taylor”…..cos there’s no frikin way we could have Colo,Bassong,Sakho
and Taylor as a 4th choice.

Or maybe Taylor will be given the RB position more often if Sakho comes.

interesting… 🙂 i also wouldn’t mind see taylor leave..for a decent fee…or in a swap deal… it could be the plan all along…remember how much trouble taylor had to get the new deal..which couldn’t match milners and martins (all “wonderkids”)…

    Hello Ally,
about 35-40 £. Of course it’s worth it. At least as a support to NUFC. (Yoy can book tickets before the rest, a months before). You get some nice presents etc.
…and tomorrow we beat Wigan 2-0

Don’t need Sakho. We have 3 good CBs. Would be stupid to sell Taylor, despite the pleas of the moronic boo-boys.

Absolutely no need for Sakho. We need a creative midfielder.

Completely agree with richard…dont need this boy! We have 3 centre halfs vying for a first team place which is great for competition! Taylor is no way near as bad as some of the morons who come on here and suggest! With limited funds why look at positions where we are sound, poor link really! A creative central midfielder and a left bk is whats needed to add balance to the squad. I think that the time is now right to replace owen! If we cud get 3-5 million in the window why not splash out 10mil on defoe?

I’d love Sakho, especially with his hair, bit of a damper to see our initial bids have been rejected but we will still sign someone 🙂

Our priotities are DM, AM, LB right.

…Maybe Colo has shown something in training to suggest he is better in a DM position. This would turn our priorities upside down completely and we would then need another CB instead of a DM. Therefore Sakho, who plays at both CB and LB would then be a good signing. Just a theory.

Interesting theory – but I don’t think Colo is nearly mobile enough to be a DM. Not saying Butt is…but if we are going to buy a DM for the future, it needs to be someone who has a good engine and is athletic enough to cover ground.

All I am saying is that I think our absolute priority is a midfielder with a little bit of guile and creativity. Someone who can pick a pass and then play it. If that means we have to spend 70-80% of our budget on 1 player then so be it.

Your description is similar to what i want from a DM. Hardworking, athletic, tall, preferably of African descent and with a decent pass on him. DM should be our main priority and we should be willing to spend anything and look all over to get the right player as it is what we are desperately lacking, proper protection for our defence.

I am quite sure there are cheaper options for young talents.

Norwegian fan, it’s good to see that im not the only norwegian fan on this site.. I actually think there is many of us! 🙂 I sit in my living room every weekend, making my neighbours complain about my shouting everytime NUFC scores! Bring on january, and let JFK bring in some new good players to strengthen our side even further! We must never let Zog go, he is one of our finest, and he can grow in to one of our biggest stars (if he isn’t allready). What me need to expect of Owen, is only the best. Lets give him a chance, to win the hearts of those nufc fans that he hasn’t yet convinced, and maybe at the end of the season, he’ll stay! Who knows, i would;)

Merry Xmas Everyone, I’ll be at the game against West Ham and I’m looking forward to it!

    Howay the lads!

    Greetings from Stavanger, Norway!!

If he’s bought to push Enrique, great. If he’s bought as CB cover…meh. Decent player, definite potential there, but we need a left-back, d-mid and a-mid above all else.

Sakho plays CB and LB so represents cover for both positions especially if Cacapa and/or Edgar leave in January as expected.

We desperately need two central midfield players and with MA at the helm expect to spend our money “wise”ly…..

Just want to add here…I think we really in need of the DM and Creative Midfielder…Butt is really poor 70-80% of the games played…poor passing and also poor tackles which resulted in freekicks..which ultimately resulting in either a penalty or goal…We really miss the combative defensive half and get a decent creative player to do the distribution..seeing Martins or Owen or Viduka coming in our own half to pick up the ball is really not right…just my opinion here.

    A lonely Geordie from Malaysia…

It’s bewildering some of the views on here?!?!?!?

Why would we want to get shot of taylor? He is good young English talent who still has a lot to learn and has become a bit complacent – this is no reason to sell him! We also dont need upson either……

People are slating Nicky Butt? They must be watching different games to me then. Yes he’s getting on a bit – but he’s still been the most consistent MF over the last few seasons.

What we need to do in Jan:

Now Owen has showed his hand we should cash in while we can and buy defoe. Then buy Bullard – if the price is right. Maybe we could go for mcfadden and larsson aswell?

    Sell: cacapa, edgar, geremi, owen

If we sell Edgar and Cacapa then we need cover at Cb and this lad would be a good signing . We would then have Bassong , Colo, Tayor and Sakho , that is the sort of competition we need

Your description of your perfect DM is very much along the lines of what I would want….

and fits Stephen Appiah quite well! He is a free agent, and in spite of his high wages, I have no idea why noone has picked him up on some sort of deal where 6-12 months can turn to 2-3 years, performance pay, clause-contract etc. He is QUALITY.

I would like to defend Steven Taylor, who seems to get more and more grief from ‘fans’ on here.

Taylor might be ‘over-rated’ but thats only because Newcastle fans hyped up this young and exciting Geordie coming through our ranks!

Now hes hit harder times, which a lot of young players do. But the best ones come through the difficult times stronger and better.

I almost feel sorry for Bassong, because he is now in the position Taylor was in a couple of years ago. So if / when Bassong hits a bad patch, these fickle fans we have in our collection of mostly great fans will turn on him and want him sold!

This surely is a time to support one of our own! Hes living the dream most of us want, a Geordie (dont give me any of that London bo*****s) playing for his team / our team!

    Stick with him.
    Lay off him
    Support him.

Whats the worst that could happen….?
He fills his potential and becomes and England international?

Oh, let me think about it.
I think i’ll take that chance.
