Newcastle Now Struggling For Liverpool Game

This was not a good day for Newcastle United, not only because we lost our first match in seven games, but we have lost three players who were  injured in Habb Beye, Jose Enrique, and Mark Viduka.

Yes Mark is injured yet again.

Habib Beye – gone to hospital – Kinnear awaiting news

Joe Kinnear talked about Habib’s injury after the game:

“Habib has gone to hospital but it’s a case of wait and see, although he’ll definitely miss the Liverpool game.”

Jose Enrique will also miss the home against Liverpool on Sunday, after injuring his hamstring during the warm up which forced a late change with Kinnear having to move Charles N’Zogbia to left back, in the circumstances.

Mark Viduka was brought into the starting line-up, but he also went limping off, late in the game, with a groin problem, and he will miss the Liverpool game at 12 noon on Sunday.

Don’t ever tell me that Viduka is not injury prone.

Bassong was sent off on 72 minutes, but presumably will be allowed to play against Liverpool, because the game comes within a week of him being sent off.

This may be some good news though, in disguise, because we can now ensure we bring in enough good players in January, so we can at least cover for injuries.

Today was very disappointing but nothing that a win on Sunday will not put right, but with some good players missing, it will be tough, though not impossible.

Comments welcome.

Come on its liverpool, who are we kidding.

With 3 of our defenders out itd be a miracle if we managed a draw. They’ll have Torres back and no doubt Martins will still be out.

We’ve no chance in all honesty lol

Predicted we would get beat of Wigan..the squad is paper thin see what Ashley will do about it in the window.

Expect a lesson in football from liverpool I seriously think we are looking like relegation fodder and drawing loads of games in the next half of the season will not be good enough to stay up.

what relegation? what’s wrong with you? we’re in that position ‘cos we lost 15 points, when KK left us and we had no manager..for 5 matches…and we didn’t get 1 single point…if we got at least 5, 6 points we’d be 7th, 8th..and noone would talk about relegation…

We have a chance as long as no one get injured. I’m sure we will pull signings this jan and dont be so god damn negative for f***s sake. Joe Kinnear ost a match, so what…….lots of managers do, he did better than keegan did when he came back, keegan didnt have a clue and kinnear has pulled his finger out and got us results. We had a bad start today due to 2 injuries very early and the sending off was harsh, but thats football. Sunday is another day… and we can beat liverpool.

Come on you lot, what’s all this negativity … that’s the first time we’ve lost in 7 games. Wigan are a rubbish, shitey little team but last time away we beat Portsmouth, who are decent these days particularly at home.

AND we should have clearly had a penalty in the dying seconds.

Cheer up for baby jesus’s sake. A whole weekend of cheer and love has been built up over 2,000 years into some kind of mass love in and some of you think a football match can ruin it.

We’ll have them scousers at home, bring it on …

i lost confidence in nicky butt today, he seemed to impersonate his christmas turkey meal far too often; headless, running around giving the ball away, sorry nicky, improve or move on.

we can at least draw with liverpool, we’re at home and tayls will get his chance in centre defence. if geremi can have a decent game at rb, we’re in with a shout

    geremi tayl colo seb
    jonas guthrie butt zoggers
    duff/martins/xisco/carroll owen

xisco has to be given another stab at it before he packs his bags, butt has to pull his socks up and stay back abit and let danny do more running instead, tayls is no rb so geremi gets the nod over duff coz playin zog and tayls at fullback is no option, bring duff on 2nd half coz he looks headless and knackered when he plays a full game

    sign any from:
upson, sahko, baines, warnock, inler, bullard, any bloody decent midfielder!!!!!

be ineteresting if jfk gets anything from smith when he’s back. beye and barton will be sorely missed

paper thin squad is the cockney mob’s fault. keegan wanted build a squad and was not given the money and power to do so. not ridiculous amounts of money to buy superstars but to build a squad i.e. not sell our best players and buy mediocre players who don’t have a shout at the first team.
to wheel and deal he wasn’t allowed.

the culprit and root of the problem mike ashley and dennis wise. then came the other idiots. keggan’s fault abandoning us.

Who did we sell? Milner? If he was our best player we are really in deep trouble. Getting 12mil for him is a really good deal however the owner must invest those money into transfers.

    next game

    after thinking a lot

dont change the formation that has brought us success…..
i guess yesterdays problem was we had practiced 4-5-1, but had to change to 4-4-2 in last second….

that unsettled the squad thats why we were so lacklustre…….
thats why i feel n’zog and duff with viduka and owen were so bad yesterday

I wouldnt write your team off just yet, Liverpool V Newcastle games are often (not always granted) great games no matter the league staus at the time. Often we (Liverpoo) seem to drop points against the lower teams in the league even when they have their best players missing even if we beat one of the top teams with the same line up the week previous.
I think this will be a tougher game for us than people would like to realise im sure newcastle will fight to the death and they must remember its only 1 defeat and just because its wigan means nowt, we lost to Hull whom sunderland wooped yet we are top of the table!! Its a funny ol game

we were outmuscled by wigan…..and we fell like flies……we got so scared….they psysically bullied us………..and god we were poor.
we might get a bit more time in the middle against Pool….but well lose….here comes the slump…..relegation is still jsut around the corner…
and by the way – Gutierrez im not impressed at all….work rate is good but hes too slow, poor first touch and way too predictable – makes no runs and definately should be playing on the left and not right……time will tell – but im not too impressed

Yeah lol sorry paul, we drew with Hull tho felt like a loss and we lost to spurs whilst they were still bottom at the time. I was there too lol (Hull game). But anyway the point is we have dropped points in games you would expect us to take all 3 so the “barcodes” have everychance, however unlikely. How many times have we said we will win as you have then we have drew both away and at home this year and last.
This isnt of coarse to say we wont win but i wouldnt put money on this either way as anything could happen
