What’s Eating Charles N’Zogbia Now?

We thought Newcastle and Joe Kinnear had patched up the recent outburst by Charles N’Zogbia, about him wanting to leave Newcastle, but yet another dubious quote from the boy has cropped up again today.

The January transfer window must be getting near.

charles-nzogbia-213.jpg_

Charles N’Zogbia – what up with him now?

Charles N’Zogbia claims his agent is due to hold talks with the Newcastle United club, regarding his future at St James’ Park.

Charles recently complained about not getting first team football at Newcastle, but he is now in the starting line-up, so we wonder what’s up with him now.

That’s especially true since Joe Kinnear said Charles was embarrassed by some of the things he was quoted as having told L’Equipe only last week.

He said then how frustrated he was by his lack of first team opportunities, and even declared he could move to PSG during the transfer window in January.

The 22-year-old apparently wants some reassurance from the club, that he has a future, but surely Joe Kinnear has already let him know that.

N’Zogbia has told Aujourd’hui Sport:

“Newcastle should tell my agent about how confident the club are in me in the next few days.”

“We can’t say they have trusted me since Kevin Keegan’s departure. This situation needs to change quickly.”

“That’s the right moment: I want to play for France in less than two years.”

This needs to be sorted out quickly by Newcastle,  because we cannot have Charles going around all the time saying he wants to leave the club,  and then saying he was misquoted.

We’d still like to know what Charles thought he told L’Equipe.

This may be a case that Charles thinks he has a better chance of playing for France with another club, maybe a French club, like PSG, which he said he wanted to join a few weeks ago.

We shouldn’t let him move in January, because we are so short of players, and he should be reminded that he has signed a contract only 15 months ago, which still has over three years to run, and if he didn’t want to stay that long, tough, he shouldn’t have signed it.

There seems far too much of Charles’ quotes saying he wants to leave Newcastle United for various reasons, and he needs to stop giving interviews to these French Sports magazines.

Comments welcome.

ed, does he not mean he wants to play ‘for’ France… not ‘in’ France? As in he’s not progressing in his career with nufc?

mmm dubious, getting a lil silly now, i’d say sell him if he’s not committed but we got enough spaces to fill…also i have officially decided that he’s better than duff. He was run ragged as a LB today but towards the end of the match he started breaking down the wings and thats when we started to look dangerous again, he has to be on the left wing at liverpool if we’re to achieve anything. Bring in the youngsters, what better test than liverpool. Still 12th though so lets not drop our heads yet

he needs to get his head right and make a decision either

if he wants to part company then so be it but make sure if he does leave it on the best possible terms for The CLUB and not him.

but if he stays all this whinging to the press has to stop and he needs to get his head down and graft hard

Still can’t believe how bad today went. I can take the defeat, i am well accustomed to losing down at Wigans’ s**thole, but it is just the manner of the defeat and the incidents which occured during the course of the game that is most upsetting.

Beye is going to be out for a long time i reckon, our star defender has been red carded, which means Taylor will come back into the CB spot until he costs us another game and loses his place again (like a ticking time bomb).
None of Enrique, Viduka, and Martins are likely to play on Sunday, and Gutierrez looks like he is in desperate need of a rest.

We really do need 4 or so players in Jan.

I don’t really want Xisco up fron with Owen in this game. The fixture against the league leaders is not the time for trhowing untried and untested players into the mix. By all means, give him 90 against Hull next week, but not against the scousers. But I suppose if Oba is not fit there is really not much of a choice…

I still can’t believe that Idiot Dean watched and awarded a penalty as Heskey held off Bassong’s challenge until he got into the box and then fell to the ground so easily.

Owen should not play on Saturday, he is completely ineffective against sides with a good defence and i predict that he will be a passenger for the whole game.

i mean..playing xisco, would be like playing martins..noone saw him much in EPL, so he’d take the role of “unpredictable striker” 😀

if JK plays geremi and kadar as our fullbacks, at least he won’t be able to say we lost ‘cos he was playing players out of positions..i mean…zog is totally useless at the back..and duff is inconsistent…so use him as sub only… zog MUST play in midfield… just give our youngsters a shoot…’cos our oldtimers let us down way too often…every 2nd match…at least..

it may be my anger after the shite performance today but if he wants to leave just sell him. then get Michael Kightly in to work some magic on the right and let Jonas (who really was the only one fighting 100 % against Wigan) play on his favoured left side.

… and maybe bring in a central midfielder that doesn’t give the ball away 9 out of 10 times.

… and I really hope Oba Obafem is ready for the Liverpool game. Feels like he’s the only real threat.

Hmm, I think we need N’Zogbia. I think these stories are blown out of proportion, and may be the result of good ole’ French jealousy. I mean, Zog is a good player and he’s doing well in jolly old England. What could be more galling? Especially when it’s Newcastle that he’s playing for 🙂 🙂

I hate to start Taylor. Crap. Oh well.

    ———–Given————
    Geremi–Tayls–Colo—Enrique
    Jonas—Guthrie–Butt—Zog (MUST play LM)
    ——Owen–Carroll/Ranger/Viduka

Hopefully Oba will be fit. God send that one to us!

Howay the lads, and hang Mike Dean.

Charles, if you want to play for France, I’d recommend you do a few of things:

    1. Learn how to pass the ball instead of dribbling around in circles like a French Rainman without the math chops.

    2. Get your head down and work on your defensive capabilities. You’re not Christiano Ronaldo–not even close.

    3. Kill every other mid-fielder in France. You’re just not that good, son. You’ll have to kill a lot of good French midfielders to get a look in at the moment.

    4. Oh, and most importantly, fix your crap attitude and keep working. You’ve got talent. Now put that together with some thought and work and maybe your dream will come true.

I think N’Zog.has been messed about by previous managers who have played him as a defender. He was one of the few players who played well under Souness on the left side of midfield.
