First Step In Rehabilitation Is To Win At Hull City

One of Joe Kinnear’s responsibilities as manager after Liverpool’s crushing defeat is to get the lads prepared for our important game at Hull City on Saturday (3:00 pm KO), in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

Joe Kinnear – has to get lads ready for Hull game

Joe talked about this today with nufcTV:

”Of course the Liverpool game was a major disappointment for everyone connected with the club.”

”But we have to get that out of our system ahead of Hull.”

“This is a massive game in the context of our season and it’s my job to make sure the lads are fully prepared.”

”We will have the backing of the Geordies again and I cannot thank them enough for their support recently.”

“Now it’s up to us to hopefully give them a good cup run because I know the tradition of the competition up here.”

Hull City play Aston Villa at home today in the Premier league, so Joe should be able to watch that game and check on Hull City, who have not been in good form recently.

We would expect Villa to win this game fairly easily as Hull have  just 7 league points from their last 10 games.

We should point out that the FA Cup is the only trophy we can win this season, but after the Liverpool hammering on Sunday, we are not too confident – and that shouldn’t come as any surprise.  😀

Before the Liverpool game, we seemed to be able to gibe any team a game, but with our injuries, which always seem to be much worse than other Premier League clubs, we were decimated on Sunday.

But we suppose anything is still possible ion this strange game of football, so we’ll not give up hope just yet.

Comments welcome.

It sits in our favour that Hull are playing tonight so we get an extra 2 days rest.

Can anyone please tell me the point of us having a cup run right now?
We can barely field a team in the prem right now and we look more like a patchwork quilt.

We have no chance of winning the FA cup I suggest JK fields the kids and gives them some experience..who knows they may even surprise us.

The last thing we need is a distraction right now and must focus on survival in the premiership.

If Kinnear doesnt just field a load of kids hes a nutter.

None of us care about the FA Cup anymore, we can worry about winning things once we have a half decent side in the first place.

Best he could do is get our kids going, that would be enjoyable to watch for once.

‘Ashley Hole’ youre the kind of fan we don’t need at the TOON, so be a good boy & grow up!!!

As for the FA Cup, ok we’re not going to win it but the lads need this match to get back on track after the other day, so I’d put out our strongest team possible & blood a few youngsters too, let them see what its like in the 1st team…

    Cyprus Toon,
Dropping all our senior players would do them the world of good.

I would field a side of kids..more games = more injuries and we are down to bare bones already.
A cup run would be a disaster.

sorry but i think hull will beat us,even with a full squad to pick from it would still be a tough place to get a result.
i can see us going on a losing run from now, mike ashley has a negative midas touch, everything he touches turns to sh*t.

Another “massive game for us” . Oh well, that makes a change from “a game we must win” or a game that’s “winable”.

    ffs! Just toss a coin!

I agree we should play our reserve strikers and our reserve midfielders, we have such a small team and are so close to relegation that picking up an injury in the wrong position could give us problems for the rest of the season. The premiership is important this year, the FA cup would be agood opportunity for our reserves to have a shot at.

I know we are supposed to be looking at a few proven premiership players, but I will believe it when they are signed up and the money has been spent.

I would follow Arse Nils example and give the youngsters a chance in the FA cup.

The 1st team need to be focussing totally on avoiding relegation – it has to be our only priority. Playing the reserves and the youngsters gives them extremely valuable experience of the step-up needed to play at that level and will do them the power of good.

If they lose, so what, the club as a whole will benefit.
