Charles N’Zogbia Should Be Fit For West Ham Game

Good news today that Charles N’Zogbia should be fit in time for next weekend’s home league clash with West Ham United.

Charles N’Zogbia – got a dead leg yesterday in first half

Charles limped out of the goalless draw at Hull City on Saturday, after seemingly getting a knee into the top of his leg when challenging for a high ball with former Middlesbrough star George Boeteng.

It was right to take Charles off because it did look like he had a dead leg, and we have to be very careful of injuries these days.

Newcastle coach Chis Hughton seems confident Charles will be OK for the visit of the Hammers to St. James’ next Saturday – a game which has a 3:00 pm kick off time.

“We’re hoping he will be OK,” “He got a dead leg and he was very sore and stiff after the game, which is the nature of that type of injury.”

“We’re optimistic that he’ll be OK for next week although he might not do much training in the early part of the week.”

The Frenchman lasted just 30 minutes yesterday, and Jonas Gutierrez came off the bench to have a very good game on the left wing.  So whether Charles can force himself  back into the starting eleven after a good display by Damien Duff is debatable.

In fact Gutierrez is currently leading our Man of the Match poll with 34% followed by Bassong with 26%, Given with 18% and Duff with 6%.

After the game N’Zogbia seemed to be in some discomfort as he was seen to hobble to the team bus at the KC Stadium for the short trip back to Newcastle.

But if it’s a dead leg he should hopefully be back in training by mid-week – and it’s also good to have our three wingers all in good form.

Comments welcome.

i agree, zogs natural position is middle left, then duff on the left, put xsisco and martins of fit up front – drop owen, i would like to see a bit more of the new fella.
i notice that rangers have said they have had NO INTEREST OR WORD from any club regarding Barry. So jfk is lyting again i guess – this time its not a bad one to be wrong about though as barry is just not good enough. i look at the great players we have let go just cos of fickle managers. i wish we still had dyer, bellamy and parker for a start. we really have been stupid over the years. christ could we do with those three now.

He may be fit for the match, but whether he will be willing to play, or even still here, is another question…

we all said that cum january and end of season that everyone would leave…..it looks like we were right. if ashley thought hecould just treat everyone like dog shit, then lie low for two months and then come back in i guess he was wrong. even if some of the fans like ashley still – although i can not think of a reason why – it looks like he has well and truly lost the dressing room and also every single player too. we are finished.

Owen should have scored at least twice.

Carroll needs more time on the pitch

    Need our sick room empyting.

Why is it NUFC is plagued with injury.

It pains me to say that it looks like the dressing room is lost – unless something dramatic happens in the immediate to turn things around!

I used to back MA and his plan for NUFC – investement in youth etc but at what cost has it brought we – a very high one.

Sorry for doom and gloom but that all it seems to be!

I’v watched Zogbia and Damien Duff play quite closely in their last couple of appearances.

I would like to say that Damien Duff’s dribbling looks is not much of a threat as compared to Zogbia. I feel that Jonas and Zogbia on the wing would give our team more attacking option as opposed to playing Duff.

Eveyone is saying let Given, N’Zogbia, Owen etc etc leave but will someone tell me who is going to replace them. We can’t afford to let anyone leave without signing players first. Kinnear said all the player were happy ( which team is he talking about ) I have supported Joe all the way but i am now doubting him . Will somebody at the club please tell us the F**KING TRUTH. Will the last person out please turn out the lights.

every single fan should now be waking up to the stark facts that newcastle is shagged andon its knees. WE ARE GOING TO LOOSE ALLOUR GOOD PLAYERS. we have no money being made available to buy new blood. ashley is and always has been a wanker who is only into us for the profit. wake up lads. it is all doom and gloom. just thimk for a second about what our dressing room must be like -out of our starting 11 owen, butt, given and zogs want to leave asap. thats massive man, thats over 1/3rd of the starting 11 want to leave ffs!! we are finished.

lets be honest charlie has wanted out for 3 year cos he heard arsenal wanted him hes done nowt but twist and moan since sell him its not like we wont make a tidy profit on him. if shay wants to go let him hes the only p;ayer i wouldnt hate for wanting to leave aslong as the price is right. Owen dont get me started wanted to leave before he got here we were his way back into the england squad when he was left out in madrid but now he has the same problem cos capello hates him. As for ins in the TW id like us to try for bullard and not ferguson and look abroad for talent english players cos far too much £12m for wayne bridge get a grip if hes worth that i expect £25m for given

It does beg the question as to what you’d have to do to get banned. He just lowers the quality of the blog IMO.

Right, back to NewsNow – I’m (probably pointlessly) hoping to see us linked to some decent players. I can only hope that JK and the ‘transfer team’ are keeping their real targets quiet as NUFC did when we signed Jonas and Bassong and that we’re planning to spend at least half of the 20 mil + Milner money…

I am not holding my breath re transfers…think we will just have to wait and see.
Surely all the chasing and networking for players should have been done ages ago?

I thought the scouts where going global and spent time in argentina and brazil at some point..sure I read that a few months ago.

It’s certainly worrying. Also, didn’t Jimmy leave because he didn’t have any scouting work to do as we weren’t looking to buy players?

I just hope Wise and JK between them have an eye for a good player and that we’ve not lost those who identified our recent successful buys…

Unsure about why Jimmy left TBH fella..if that was the reason it is worrying.

I think this “we need to sell” that keeps popping up is a bit worrying as well..we are already paper think in many departments.

Why are people saying duff had a good game, im sure beyond the 1st half he didn’t get a single cross in, he ran don’t get me wrong, but gutierrez did it, kept possesion and created something. We need more pace in our side

dear me – what on earth is wrong with the whingers on this blog, we’re no worse off now than at any time since SBR was sacked, zogs has been asking to leave since he got in first team, we have able goalkeeping backup in Harper, Krul and Forster. They wont let Given and Harper leave and then spend 5 million plus on a new goalkeeper, Butt can go to Wigan in my opinion, been a solid player but his passing is getting worse and we need a creative midfielder next to Barton/Guthrie

West Ham will be a tough game as they’re playing quite well at the moment

We can’t really let Butt go without replacing him (preferrably with 2 players so we’ve got cover).

However, he has had a few bad games recently.

As has been said elsewhere – a high quality, quick attacking midfielder would transform NUFC.

We’ve got a relatively good defense when fit, a decent strikeforce, a reasonable holding midfielder and good wingers.

If we really invested in a proven midfielder to make the team tick I think things would look far rosier….

but i think we need to pray that our club will c where they r goin wrong (ashley not spending n e thing) we need to invest and invest now on players i hope we can survive but its not looking good but then there r a few other teams lookin gnot good look at man city and west ham
west ham to sell players and man city cant get the playrs to play for the team
same prob were in tho theres no passion nor commitment to out team and im now fed up of it
