MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo, and Wimbledon’s goalkeeping legend Dave Beasant, made the draww, just a few minutes ago.

Sunderland could be at home to Blyth Spartans if the Spartans can beat Blackburn Rovers on Monday evening, in another game to be televised live around the world. The Blyth boys are becomning very famous and we’ll be watching that game and hoping the lads can make it – and then beat Sunderland.

And first two names out of the hat were unbelievably Liverpool and Everton for a Merseyside derby.

And there is a possible Manchester United vs Tottenham tie, if United can beat Southampton this afternoon, in a game thnat has just kicked off.

Bloody hell, is this a favourable draw? That’s got to be one of the first times in years I’ve seen that!
At least it’s no more ‘away to Arsenal’ b*llocks…

If we get through with Millwall it would be Gremlins v Bushwackers. That could be a nasty business!

@partizan – 1 of those goals was a dubious penalty though. His 1st was canny, happy birthday Jamie lad, wish you were here…

On topic – let’s just beat Hull first eh? Then we can think about Millwall/Crewe. Was one of the draws I was hoping for.

The Spartans can do me 2 big favours now, smash Fat Sham Allardarse and the mackems after that. Talk about incentive… 😀

There could be a lot of premiership sides exiting in the next round or in the replay matches

    Bristol City – PORTSMOUTH
    LIVERPOOL or EVERTON
Man Utd – TOTTENHAM (Man U will win)
    SUNDERLAND or BLACKBURN
    Hartlepool – WEST HAM
    Birmingham City/Wolverhampton Wanderers MIDDLESBROUGH
    Peterborough – WEST BROM

And then there is a slight chance Kettering could do something against Fulham as well as Cardiff against Arsenal.

Provided we beat Hull, which won’t be easy. Hoping that Blyth can beat Blackburn for a dream encounter with Sunderland, although I doubt it will happen.

I believe we need an owner who is going to invest in the club. Ashley in his defence has cleared a lot of the dept the club had from the previous regime. Ashley however need to understand that running a football does not stop there. It is imperative that he brings in 5 players at least NOT Fergusen,Bougherra as they are no better then what we already have.

If we are to move forward then we will need good signings, a few that come to mind are Bullard,Noble,Insua,Upson and a quality youngster to keep the youth system on its toes. Unfortunately Ashley does not seem to see it that way. It looks like to me he wants to bring in youngsters on the cheap and sell them on at a huge profit. Yes Ashley is a business man and no body can blame him for wanting to make himself a little earner on the club but he needs to balance it. With Ashley its all take and no give he seems like an extremely selfish man but i may be wrong i am only going off whats said in the press which is a bad thing to do anyway. We will soon find out in February what his ambition really is. Lets hope its good for the fans but up to now it looks dull.

    Another winter transfer period.
Another spate of calls to blood the youngsters. Another year threadbare.
    Another want-away star.
    Another mental owner.
    yet Another manager.
Another year it will be better.
    Another couple of players please.
    Another miracle.
    Another Nightmare!

Only an idiot thinks he can make profit out of a football club. you need to pay so much in expenditure in order to compete. The problem for us is that ashley as we all know is a moron and probably believes buying only young 17 year olds is the way forward. He apparantly wants to mimic the Arsenal model however arsenal do not have a a Dennis wise figure who lives 400 miles away. Also this debt that we keep getting told Ashley has cleared, where is the proof. How many other things have we been lied to about, even Shepherd who as much as i hate has come out and said this claim they make about the debt is an exaggeration. Ashley has lied from day 1 and who can honestly believe anything that is spun out of the club.

Also how can Ashley look at the state we are in and think of making money. He is a disgusting owner and one that come the summer will learn how much he is hated when begging for season ticket renewals. There will be a mass desertion come August time.

who can remember in the 80,s when they came out of the central station and took a liberty on three lads in a bar.
later in the season we went to the old den and smashed it up,i was there that day.
a lot of lads were up on serious charges after that one,a car boot of a toon fan was opened to reveal a cache of weapons including a samurai sword.

How any of us even considered forgiving this guy is beyond me. We are our own worst enemies’ we are too short sighted this is now ashley’s 3 window and he still hasnt spent any money. He managed to make a 3 m profit last summer by selling our players from what was a paper thin squad, he made 3 m which he then went to blow on a night out in a casino.
This club used to be a working man’s club how can he treat us supports with such contempt and be soo greedy in the credit crunch.
Problem is even worse as now we have an even thinner squad and he still wants to offload.

Don’t think for one moment i am sticking up for ASHLEY, i’m as annoyed with the fat b….rd as much as the next man but we have to remember that the Press exaggerate alot. You need to filter the truth from Lies look at one of the links i put up today it was something about the toon having a 4 million pound bid accepted for a goal keeper from the NOTW. WHY would we even contemplate buying a Goal keeper even if we do sell Given when we are well off in that department. We just need to wait and see what happens you never know he may have a few surprises up his sleeve.

Man Utd, Arsenal win things, play champions league football, have bigger stadiums and invest properly in their side. Even despite this Man Utd still have 600 million debt so what ever profit they make is a drop in the ocean.

If your goin to prove me wrong find a better example.

I can understand ashley not wanting to splash 30 m here and there and not being able to do that. Also trying to reduce the wage bill and not pay over the odds for players is good. But even with this he needs to understand that a football club or company cannot be run without a secure investment. I’m sure he could muster up at least 10 m without having to sell any players. This would alow us to buy cheap up and coming players from the continent and from latin america. If I had 10 m in my hand I know of at least 4 players I would buy and who would walk straight into the team. on low wages and small transfer fee
