Kinnear Responsible For Who Comes And Goes At Newcastle

Chris Hughton has been speaking to the press since Saturday’s game with Hull City, and he talked today about how the transfer system will work within the club.

Hughton and Kinnear – working well together for Newcastle

Chris talked this morning about the transfer system at Newcastle:

“Joe Kinnear is working as close as he needs to (with Dennis Wise),” “What happens at the club is there’ll be a process set in place and of course Dennis Wise will be involved in that.”

“But any players coming through will be the players that Joe Kinnear wants to bring to this club and of course the process has already been set in place and we’ll see where it takes us.”

“That central midfield position is where we can least afford to pick up injuries or bans but we just have to get on,”

“There will be inquiries made regarding players but how quickly that will happen or whether they will happen we don’t know at this moment.”

One thing we have said for some time are there are areas where we have to strengthen and we will look to do that as quickly as we can.”

We still think that was the way it was supposed to work in the summer, because that’s what Chris Mort said when he brought in Dennis Wise to the club in late January.

And it was also what Dennis said when he was first interviewed at the club, and we believe he actually said he wouldn’t bring in players behind the manager’s back – those exact words are what Dennis used.

We still don’t know exactly what caused the huge dislocation at the club on September 1st, but we’d certainly like to find out, and we’re not entirely convinced that players were brought in behind Kevin’s back – but we just don’t know for sure at this point.

One player who was said to be bought against Kevin’s wishes is Xisco, and of course he is now up for sale, and it looks like that was a bad deal for the club, and for the 22 year-old too.

We hope that we’ll find out at some point, maybe during Keegan’s action of claiming £8M for false dismissal from Newcastle.

Comments welcome.

so mr cashley is not putting any money up for transfers then? i thought mr kinnear stated a couple of weeks ago that there was money there to spend if we needed it, not a massive amount (in football terms) but 10-12 million to get decent cover in two positions would satisfy me but not holding my breath……

Fat Ashley is like the Daily Mail, The Sun, the Express, and Simon Bird Shite in the Mirror – a load of hogwash. KK was misled and so now is JK. Hughton seems to have swallowed the pills too.

This is what worries me. We have the ex Wimbledon (and all the crap that entailed) manager in charge of transfers and linked with stunning mediocrity.

This is one situation where I would pick Wise over Kinnear to get some quality in as Joke Kinnear doesn’t appear to have a clue going by his choice of potential targets.

I hope that when we finaly get enough points to beat the drop this year, and our PL status is confirmed, a buyer will come forward and save this fantastic club from the evil greedy pig.

I still think he would sell, even tho its been taken off the market

Dont care what ppl say we’re better off now than under Shepherd. We were living in credit and loans, and now although we undoubtley have debt its realistic. Shepherd-mmm souness,alladyce,dalglish-overpaid for many flops too. I think we’d be similar to West Ham right now. Or worse administration.

Yes i believe Ashley has not run the club the way we would have wanted. But it makes me laugh everyone naming players we should buy and and the prices to pay. Fact is A) there not for sale at these prices and B) we’ve been finishing mid table or below for the last few seasons so they dont want to come. Its not Wise not doing his job its not playing 15 million for Baines for example or 12 million for Bridge.

I agree we shouldnt sell certain players but if they dont want to stay i dont want them. I’m not naive to not appreciate what they’ve done for the club but will there heart be in it.(happens to other clubs Defoe,DowningBarry) Kinnear should be allowed to strengthen to keep us up. BUT only a little so a new manager with the funds from sept 08/jan 09/summer 09 can rebuild. As we need a long term manager as i’ve said before in the mould of O’Neil(yes i know we wont get him but the same ilk)

I’ve never seen the youth setup looking so rosie for 30 years that has to be Ashley’s one plus surely. Young players are choosing us over Arsenal (ok not all but 2 have said so)I hope Ashley makes Wise continue this process. On equal measure Kinnear gives some of these players a chance.

If Kinnear as he said is responsible for who comes and goes then he should speak less. 16 million for 3 players no way! Cant help believe Xisco is being sold to “prove a point” Never name who your going after either leads to more gossip/slagging off of who he’s going for. Kinnear should just silently go about it then update us with “we are agreeing personal terms with 2 players” etc etc. Also last time we were never linked to a player we signed until it happened.

Yeah this will get torn to shreds by more frequent bloggers and i’ll be dubbed cockney or sleeping with Ashley but had to have my rant lol

The club is being asset stripped in the worst possible way. The paying customers i.e. ourselves have no say in what goes on and by the end of season Mike Ashley will be richer due to the sales of Given and Owen in January and then anyone else who he can sell off. Given will not be replaced as we have Harper, Krul etc. Owen will not be replaced as we have Ranger, Carroll etc.
We are destined for the football wilderness unless Ashley leaves Newcastle now. Anyone who has pleaded for him to be given a second chance will seriously regret this if he is here in the summer.

I would much rahre rplay the youngsters that wis ehas bbought in than pay silly money for aging, injury prone people like Diop and ferguson who we will be looking to get rid of again almost immediately. That type of player is not going to enhance us at all. Joke kinnear’s whole mentality like Allardyce is to get in big bruisers and aim for midtable mediocrity with not one creative midfield player in sight

We would have done a Leeds under Shepherd through his bad decisions on managers and spending money we hadnt recived yet.

We are going to seriously struggle more under MA because of his setup and his greed.

you say :- ” Given will not be replaced as we have Harper, Krul etc. Owen will not be replaced as we have Ranger”

And your point is ? I would much rather give Krul and Ranger a go ahead of the likes of MacGregor and Boyd etc. If we let Ranger go to Spurs I’ll be devastated.

Owen and Given don’t want to be here. Let’s stop embarrassing ourselves.

    i have to agree

shepard didnt always give his manager a choice for example

    souness wanted

    anelka and boa morte

    but got

    owen and luque

also youre right kinnear should speak less

if we are in for these players then why talk about it youre just alerting every1 else

especially when you dont have much of a say

what pisses me off with the current regime though

    is they keep lying

    but not just lying

they lie for the sake of it (at least thats what it would seem as the yare so bad it)

if youre going to lie you lie about something that isnt going to be found out or contradicted

Nick – My point is, they will be sold and the money will not be used to strengthen the squad. I too would love all the youngsters to come in and start proving themselves, but when established stars are sold and the money is not used in the correct way, then I object. The Milner 12m has not been spent yet. Yet we have to sell more players.

“Kinnear responsible for who comes and goes at Newcastle…”

    Really? Like Keegan was?

Where have I heard this before…

This bloody club man. If it’s not deafening silence it’s outright lies!!!

“Owen is happy here” = he’ll be gone as soon as someone makes an offer.

“Shay isn’t going anywhere” = he’s fed up of the dross and he wants out.

“Butt and Harps will sign in a couple of days” = still waiting, maybe they can’t find a pen as Ashley has flogged them all for a flutter on the 2:50 at Chepstow…

I think everyone on here does support the team (except the spurs fans). Just that when they see how far back we have gone in the last 2 years (when success will be to say up) then some people arent going to be so apathetic and say nothing, turn up to st james park, spend money in the club shops and act like nothing has gone on.

SpartanChris – to be fair fella I despise your posts so much I cant even be bothered to discuss the issues with you.

Dan157 – when so call fans spend all their time twisting and speculating that Ashley is this or that it sickens me. We are simply miles ahead of 2 years ago – financially secure – I know I know the Mob claim paying off 100mill debt that was stolen by another regime is nothing. That restructuring the club for long term success is dispicible. I could write 10000 words and you know what, the Mob and Morons would still come back with Ashley Oot – and I simply cant be bothered anymore fella.

Well done our own so called fans are ruining this club far more than Ashley has ever done.

Ashley and his “aresenal blueprint” as he was quoted a while back, was his intention to mimmick at nufc.

this goes for the wages, amount spent and type of player he will go for etc.
only problem is they are a stable club from top to bottom. Their manager is a successfull continental one, that could grace any club in the world. Their recruitment and scouting team is one of the best in the world. they have a certain legacy that we dont and have always had big money to spend when it was needed. The manager has a great eye for a player, normally french tall slender skillfull flair types .

Sorry fatty the answer was not to hire dwarfed wise and get his old manager that has an eye for crazy mercenary battler players, then make money promises that never cometo light, delay contracts with your best players, try to offload your best players with hours to go on deadline days, undermine everyone with football authority beneath you, never come out and say a word about intentions for the club, lie to the fans and take us “for utter mugs” etc etc etc etc.

enough is enough, but hardly an “arsenal blueprint” mate.

Ashley’s plan was a good one, but his execution of his plan has been dreadful.
