Newcastle Show Interest In Young Almeria Defender

News in the Newcastle Journal today that Newcastle are interested in 6’2″ Almeria defender José Manuel Flores Moreno.

chico1

José Manuel Flores Moreno – “Chico” – while at Barcelona
Moreno, who turns 22 years old in March and ius nicknames “Chico”, currently plays center-back for Spanish First Division side Ameria, and has played for them 10 times this season.

Almeria are currently 14th in the league with 19 points from their 17 games.

The youngster has one cap for the Spanish Under-21 side, and is said to be one of the promising young defenders in the Spanish League.

The youngster was on Barcelona’s books and has only recently moved to Almneria this season.

We haven’t seen the boy play, but maybe some of our readers located in Spain can give us more information on the player – which is a little hard to find.

I’m all for getting young and upcoming players but we need a few established players to sign too. We need them to make an impact straight away and help us stay up.

    A 22 year old kid from the spanish league won’t help us right now…………….well unless it’s Aguero…or Messi…or Bojan…or..etc.

Get some solid players for the first team !!! then we can go and travel the beaches for good youngsters all year.

I’d rather see Nedum Onuoha if we’re going for a centre back. Two full backs must be our priority along with an attacking midfielder.

    Here is one for you.

Chelsea would not allow a loan signing to us for a defender as he would not get “developed” at NUFC.

So they have allowed a defender to go to Bolton on load.

    WTF is that about!!!!!

Just goes to prove what clubs think of us!!

Can you really blame them? I mean its not as if we did anything to continue the improvement of the likes of Rossi is it?

Now that lad is class, yet we only gave him a handful of chances…

We wouldn’t develop Macienne, our coaches are crap and SJP is fast becoming a grave yard for decent footballers, we have had hundreds of promising youngsters, bought in and through the academy, and completely failed to develop them to premiership standard.Thats why no one will come. Crap manager, crap team, crap owner.

Like you all said, good to be after young players – but let’s not forget where we’re lacking the most: Midfield!

At the pace this transfer window is moving in, we’ll sign a defender or 2 and that’ll be it…The board can say they’ve appeased the fans by bringing in new faces and we will be STILL (for the 3/4 transfer window running) be lacking flair!

Nothing wrong with spanish players if you sign the right ones……who are top of the league with 5 or 6 spaniards in our team every week. Its the clubs fault we only seem interested in over priced, second rate spaniards.

im thinking that there is a very slight possibility some of the money is being kept back just in case we are forced to pay the 12mil + fee for jonas that we did not pay

how do any of you know that there is no money being put out? we have transfer targets, not all of them are said. no one knew we were getting jonas until he just popped in. i think that will happen.

as for chelsea not loaning us mancienne, i think they are wrong as he would have plenty of opportunities to improve his defensive skill as the ball seems to be in our half for most of the games!

I hope the Journal have this wrong. I agree with Darling27 (3) Onuoha would be far better and he’s used to the premiership. BUT we need LB, RB, AM, DM and striker before a central defender.
Ameobi signing a new contract is not the answer, we need a guaranteed goal scorer.

Darling27- Before Enrique signed he was touted as a possible target for Barca or Real. If they cannot judge quality then who can? He is improving with every game, and sooner or later he will prove his doubters wrong.

Sir Erec, after 4 transfer windows of disappointment I am amazed at your optimism. You’ll be sitting all bleary eyed on the 1st of Feb crying into horlicks at 11.59 as that amazing announcment is made………Newcastle have signed the player they have tracked all trnasfer window ina an amazing last minute deal. The deal was brokered by who else but Willy Mckay (the only agent NUFC know) …….its ……….Stephen Carr again, DOH

The sorry fact is that if we had backed Keegan and brought in some big earning established players, as kk said, he knew the trouble the injury prone bunch we have would struggle to get through to Jan let alone the full season. Our team would be much more balance and settled, ready to deal with injuries. Now in this window we would be just tidying up, bring in a few youth players or at very most have one position requiring cover but now we see that we need to literally buy a new first team, Butt is too slow and so far past it that he puts extra pressure on the back line as opposed to bolstering it, physically becoming negative to the defensive efforts of the team, Duff shows glimpses of his former glory but he is no where near the player he was. Getting rid of Milner, who was our only consistent player, was madness, his fitness and availability have been unrivalled at the club during his time with us and with him gone, we rely on Jonas. Jonas just isn’t that good, brought in to replace milner before he was shipped out no wonder James left.

I’m not going to bother with the defence as we all know the state of play there. Bassong is doing a good job but he has no prem experience and is too young and inexperience to play top flight football in this country as yet, maybe in 4-5 years.

As for the strikers, honestly, Viduka is shite and past it, why did we keep him over the summer if we were trying to get old/past it/high earning non productive/injury prone players off the books?
Martins, whilst he has scored some amazing goals, we can all plainly see he is not a natural footballer; he is a sprinter who decided to kick a ball. His inconsistent record backs that statement, real goal scorers will get you on average a goal every other game, like Owen, however this guy is constantly out through injury so once again there is a flaw which needs to be address.

Am I alone is feeling pleased I didn’t renew my season ticket? After 12 years of blind faith and thousands of my hard earned ££££ being wasted I can’t justify that cash outlay any more. It’s simply not worth it!

During all this where the chairman, the man who stated he ‘wanted a team to rival chelsea’, the man who said ‘he would bring, a Ronaldinho to NUFC and glory will flow black and white.’
I’ll tell you where he is, nowhere to be seen! He has ruined the clubs chances of every having stability, the one promise to the fans he gave that I honestly hoped he could deliver!

With every passing day, I lose a little more heart and love for my club. After 20 yrs of faithful support I don’t think I have much left in me to get passionate about.

We wanted Glory and all we’ve got are tears,

Do you go to the games, the only reason he has been looking quarter decent is because we’ve been playing Nzogbia on the left with him. Other than that he’s another second rater.

F’Sick- His performance against Lennon should tell you everything about his ability to defend. He had him in his pocket on all but one occasion during that game. Not many players can handle a winger with that amount of pace, yet he managed to do so with ease.

dave – I’m just glad I’ve had an excuse all these years not to get a season ticket after giving mine up in the early Premiership years. I missed some magic stuff then but it’d make me want to puke paying hard-earned cash out for players not pulling their weight and a boardroom that appears to treat us with contempt.

Bassong is only 22 and he’s OK. Enrique is getting a lot better too. I’d have no problem with getting in another young defender, as long as they’re decent.

The minimum we need is a strong midfield general and a full back who can cover both sides. We can manage in other areas, at least until the end of the season, but we seriously risk being relegated without these as a bare minimum.
