Harper Confident Oba Martins Back Very Soon

Reserve team goalkeeper Steve Harper  was operated on by top hernia surgeon Dr Muschaweck at her Munich, Germany clinic, a few years back, and Steve thinks the world renowned surgeon will soon have Oba Martins fit and back playing for Newcastle United again.

Harper – who went under the knife two seasons ago – says there is every chance Martins could be back well before the end of the month to help injury-hit Joe Kinnear, also without Mark Viduka, who tore a muscle in his groin last month.

Steve talked the Newcastle medical staff and Dr. Muschaweck today:

“Our medical staff at Newcastle United are second to none,” “And if they’re sending Oba out to Germany to see Dr Muschaweck, it’s because she’s the best at what she does in the world.”

” She’s seen a lot of Newcastle’s lads before, and I’ve been to see her for a similar problem.” “And it’s safe to say we all benefited from her treatment.”

“Hopefully, now Oba is going over there, it’s a good thing. It won’t be long before he’s back on the pitch and scoring goals for Newcastle.”

“When I went to see her, I was back playing on the 11th day. It’s amazing how much time she takes off your recovery.”

As far as we recall she’s already treated Shearer, Harper, Owen, Given and Craig Bellamy at her Munich clinic, and now Oba Martins, and every one of them has made a full, and extremely quick recovery.

We’ll be relying on her skills and competence again to have Oba back soon, say within two weeks of when he has the operation this coming Monday.

Don’t they give you a shave down below before a hernia op. I wonder if it’s her who gets to do that job with wor Martins.

Mark Hughes says he doesn’t think there has been an offer what. What!!!! He should know for certain shouldn’t he, you know being he manager and that. Hopefully thpugh it will stay that way unless it’s true that we have very little – no money at all and someone has to raise some funds to get a left back and CM.

Hughes is not in charge of transfers. I thought this would have been clear to everyone after the Robinho transfer.

Actually pretty excited this morning……If we could get Mido and Ferguson i would be ecstatic! Ferguson is a very solid player…….at only 3 mil, although 30 he would still be very solid for at least a couple years.

And Mido would be an awesome backup striker for Martins and Owen………could help us immediately with Martins out for awhile.

    re: dan

that suggest to me that hughes has given a list of players to someone to go out an get these players and given is defently on it and it’s only a matter of time before they bid for him, unless there’s a second keeper on the list

But surely he would have to sanction them like he has surely done with their bid for Santa Cruz. If not and he has any integrity then he will walk.

i doubt mido would come after the disgraceful way we treated him

imo he should get a standing ovation from us when we next play boro as a way of saying sorry

No Keegan is a different issue. If Mark Hughes was given Xisco and Gonzalez by the Man City owners then it might be however not even Keegan with his integrity would have done a runner if our owners had money coming out of their ears and could afford the best players. Theres a difference in making do with Robinho and Santa Cruz to a Uruguayan on loan that you have never heard of.

standing ovation? are you taking the piss? he plays for the smogs. get a grip! he’s a fat cry baby who looks like a shoe bomber – and sayeed off lost. when he next comes to st james’ i would expect nothing less than booing of every touch until the little bairn throws his toys again.

are you one of these poncy fans that gave gerrard a bloody ovation for ripping us to shreds and making a laughing stock of us on TV? or lampard cos his mam had just died? no wonder we get tossed on at st james park now. the place has lost its soul. the opposition must enjoy coming here for the round of applause they’ll get. f*ck me bring back the 80s.

Be stupid to let Given go. We need to keep our good players to keep SOME FORM of status of being a good side.

If Owen goes, Given goes etc

What stops people from relating us to west brom ?

We’re becomming a side full of nobodies that only fans of the club think have any ability.

We USED to be a club who everyone in England knew had class players…this improved our status as a club in general. That how we managed to get Owen in the first place – not purely money.

Harper has not signed an extension yet either.

harps would sign if was to be number 1, its what he always wanted….i agree losing shay would be terrible, but if hes unhappy, its best all round tbh.
with him being out of form do you think micah richards may be available? would anyone want him?

Sturridge is too highly rated at city for them to do a deal with him. They were 2-0 down a blackburn with 10 mins to go and Sturridge comes on and scores then sets Robinho uo brillaintly for the second.

Not as a CB but as a full back yes. In the main defence is positioning is awful. His form has dipped a lot this season.

very true, we can dream though…. do you think kinnear is genuinly convinced shay is staying or does he know that the second we get a bid he’ll be gone?! just wondering if shay goes kinnear will be super pissed and suprised and will look like a liar, etc…. im just wondering if ashley can tip kinnear over the edge and he ends up stepping down, imagine if that happened, we be even more screwd, as ashley sits there having a money shower and a evil chuckle…

I don’t actually want to see us sell Given by the way but i would be far more annoyed if nobody was brought in than if Given was sold. 3-4 of those players i think would make more of a difference than Given on his own so if it’s true about there being no or little money those swap deals look like a good option.

dan id be tempted by that big time…. johnson alone makes it attractive but i rate the other 2….. that would be brilliant then get in a lb and poss a striker….. id like smith to have another crack at it….keep barton….sell nzogbia if he wants out which would generate another 6-8 million.

Johnson is worth upwards of 12 mil

Elano is worth about 8-10 mil

    You’re right with Onouha (2.5 – 3 mil)

Kinnear was scraping the bottom of the barrel and if he were to leave (which he won’t as he is just delighted ust to have a job) then nobody would come, not even a body of water, or even a dead body for that matter.
