The Newcastle United club will have to take a strong hold of some of our players’ agents and just throttle them.
Oba Martins – would leave for right offer
Now we are being told that Obafemi Martins would consider leaving Newcastle if he received the right offer, according to his representative, Dapo Kujore.
He’s the one that criticized the medical staff at Newcastle only last week, and now it would appear he’s really trying to stir things up. He has issued a “come-on” to potentially interested clubs by saying that Martins would consider leaving Newcastle United. What is this guy playing at?
Martins has not played since mid-December, and should be having his hernia operation in Germany today, or so we were told last week.
Kujore told Kick Off Nigeria today.
“If an offer came for him, of course he would consider it,”
“But, for now, he is a Newcastle player and he will give his best to the club as long as he is there.”
“Right now, he is focused on getting completely fit and back on the pitch again.”
Joe Kinnear or Dennis Wise need to get on the phone with the players’ representatives – at least N’Zogbia and Martins – and tell them to keep quiet about the Newcastle Players they represent.
Of course they are only in this for themselves, because if their players move they will get a cut of the deal – but it’s ridiculous that there no controls on these agents.
There should be – and the FA should put some limitations on what these people can say to the press.
What do you think?

I honestly think his agent is absolutely right in saying so. Who wouldn’t?
Having said that, I would be really really disappointed if Martins does leave as he is, imo, our best attacking player.
MA, do some thing!

Comment #283The transfers so far in this window and the prospective deals really tell there own story:
Arsenal, Villa and Chelski all not spending as yet.
Blackburn and Bolton, looking for lower league players or bargains (2m Barton! ha)
Everton, skint
Fulham, nothing
Hull, selling
Liverpool nothing
Boro, no money
Man U cheaper foriegn leagues.
Portsmouth, only spending due to sales.
Spurs, more money than sense!
West Ham, fire sale
Stoke, lower league shopping
Wigan, more interested in keeping what they’ve got.
West Brom, nowt!
Then you have Man Citeh, the richest club in the world and who are they linked with:
Bridge
Bellamy
Parker
not exactley players the top 4 are desperate for.
Then theres Given and they slap in only 4 million.
So i know we all what internationals coming in, i thik we have to be realistic and accept that may not be possible.
This is because:
No one whats to sell in this window
No one has the disposable cash that was around a few years ago
Everyone is a bit more cautious about spending these days.

Comment #285I thought the players that Man City linked with shows that their owner is letting MH doing his job.
This is getting rare in EPL.

Comment #286Agents are often trying to interfere with clubs and the players they represent. If players have any common sense they would be represented by the PFA anyway, instead of lining the pockets of some these so called agent spivs. If Quashie is on Joe’s list then we are obviously on the way to being Wimbledon on Tyne.

Comment #287It’s just the natural of agent’s job.
I don’t think we, fans, should be that annoyed by what they do. Players need an agent to make sure he is not fooled around by their clubs. And you certainly need a few guys helping you if you are playing for the NUFC board.

Comment #288shearermania – He played on the wing bet every Rangers fan says he is far, far better as a striker and I agree having only ever seen him in european competition, that is where he played and that is where he scored goals.
