Newcastle United Football Club are linked with a £2M bid for 22 year old Coventry City left back Daniel Fox – at least according to the Sunday Sun.
Daniel Fox – 6’1″ Coventry City left-back
With Joe Kinnear more than eager to bolster the Newcastle squad during the January transfer window, so we will have a more than even chance of staying in the Premier League this season, reports in the Sunday Sun claim that 22-year-old Fox has emerged as a target.
The Coventry City defender Fox learned his trade at the Everton Youth Academy, but the closest he came to a first-team appearance was as an 18-year-old being named on the bench.
He was released by Everton in the summer of 2005 and he moved to Walsall, where he played around 100 times before moving to Coventry City last January.
It appears that Joe Kinnear rates him highly, as a star of the future and hopes to land the player for just £2M.
The Winsford-born Fox has already been called up for the England Under-21 side for the match against Poland on March 25th last year and started that game.
Last January, the attack-minded left-back signed a three-and-a-half year deal at the Ricoh Arena, but he would no doubt jump at the chance of joining Newcastle United.
Daniel is also the type of player that we should be signing at the club, and there has to be some young jewels playing in the Championship – and this boy could be one of them
