Spanish Under-21 International striker Xisco comes in for his first start under Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear for tonight’s 3rd round FA Cup replay at St. James’ Park.
The 22-year-old will partner captain skipper Michael Owen up front with Andy Carroll only fit enough to take a place among the substitutes tonight with a tight hamstring.
Nicky Butt returns from suspension to form a four-man midfield alongside Jonas Gutierrez, Danny Guthrie and Damien Duff.
Charles N’Zogbia has passed a fitness test and will start at left-back with David Edgar as expected starting at right back. Charles owes the club a very good performance tonight after all his immature comments to the press over the last week or two.
Xisco has never really been given a chance on Tyneside, and it would be nice to see the lad play well, and even score, so we wish him the best of luck tonight.
Steven Taylor also makes the bench with a minor calf problem, and presumably he and Andy Carroll will only be risked in the most dire of circumstances.
This game will go to extra time and penalties if necessary to produce a winner to play Milwall a week on Saturday in the 4th round.
Howay The Lads!!

Comment #4Wonder what kind of reception Mr Ego gets ?
I’ve never been one for booing, although have to admit did once when Dyer refused to play for Bobby on the right wing ! Fool.
I would love there to be complete silence when his name is called out or if he was to leave / enter pitch!
Each to there own though, you pay the ticket, your entitled to your opinion.
Zog has mouthed off to the press, i dare say there will be one or two fans will air their views tonight, in person!

I think we will win tonight actually. Looks a decent side we are putting out, in spite of injuries.
