18 Year-Old Brazilian Wonder Kid Captured By Newcastle

As we had reported this morning , from a Brazilian Football web-site, Newcastle United have indeed won the race to sign 18 year-old Brazilian wonder kid Caio Ferreira.

Caio Ferreira – Brazilian wonder kid

Sky Sports are not reporting that Newcastle have indeed captured the 18 year-old, who traveled to a number of clubs earlier this month, but Newcastle have won the race to sign the youngster, with strong competition from other Premier League sides..

The player’s English representative Lee Payne has confirmed the deal is in place.

And by all accounts Joe Kinnear even thinks the young forward can help Newcastle in the next few weeks, as the team recovers from its crippling injury list, currently at 11 senior players out.

The young forward, who plays for Clube Atletico do Porto, has Italian ancestry, and is currently waiting on his Italian passport from the embassy, which would then allow him to play in England.

Joe Kinneasr has been in constant contact with the youngster, who will travel to Newcastle when his passport comes through, expected to be next week, and will sign a 3 year contract at St. James’ Park at that time.

The player’s English agent, Lee Payne told skysports.com this afternoon:

“The deal is done, and we are now just waiting on the documents in Brazil,”

“He is such a wonderful talent, I had no doubts after seeing him in Brazil that he would soon be on his way to England.”

“It took just a matter of days for a number of clubs to express an interest in him.”

“But Newcastle finalized a deal and he is very excited to be joining such a big club.”

This is great news, that we have indeed won the race for yet another top youngster, this time one from Brazil.

This will lighten the mood, just a little bit for Newcastle fans after our FA Cup disappointment last night, but if we can also get 22 year old Rennes midfielder Stephane Mbia though the door, the mood will lighten even further.

Wishing and Hoping – as always.

JFK wont use him – why – well he only used Xisco as a last resort.

Will take time to get him into the english game and measure fitness etc by which time Carroll and Ameobi (3 years yey) will be back

TBH if we get relegated, with all the promising youth players on the books we’ll have a pretty sweet team by the time we get promoted again…

Curious how good he actually is…

I was just as upset as everyone else here about last night but for me, it does help to hear that we’re making moves now to get better. Ashley forking any amount of money makes me happy.

And relegated?? Come on. Sadly, we have been going through this the last couple years and there’s always talk but there is only one Leeds.

I’m glad we’re still keeping an eye out for emerging talent.

Of all the things Ashley has done wrong at the club, the youth set up is a big tick!

Gazza’s nephew has been signed for the acadamy, shame he’s only 7. He was spotted scoring 22 goals in 30 mins for his local team.

While I have many problems with how the club is run at the moment. The youth policy is a plus point! Its good we are getting lots of talented youngsters in the club locally and from around the globe. Hopefully we can have future local stars in our team instead of them being at other clubs. Just look at Michael Carrick! How we need someone like him! Many others down the years!

I just hope this great policy works for us and we don’t end up selling them when they come good.

    Stardust – I won’t hold my breath.

Under Mr Ashley new transfer system we have signed:

Guttierez – The more I see him the mor I’m realising why he cost nothing!

    Xisco – Nuff said!

    Colocini – Not good enough!

Bassong – Well one out of four ain’t bad!

Guthrie is probably the best and he was a Keegan choice.

That’s a damming indictment on his executive directors ie Wise, Jiminez and Vetere.

Stuart79 and Ashley also paid for under the old system in 07 – Smith , Viduka, Rozenhal, Barton and Faye – me thinks the new policy is an improvement on the old.

If you prefer the old so be it. Id prefer this summers signings than the previous.

ToonGraeme – on Ferreira not being picked – Never underestimate the ego factor in a manager’s team selection. The fact the JK oversaw this signing will mean the lad gets a game when the time is right.

Can we have less ear-prejudice n’all thank you..
Do yees not remember Gavilan’s 2 protruding beauties… what a player he was for us.

Stuart79.. FFS!!!! How did the doom-monger of the year awards go?? You got the trophy then aye? Your list of summer’s transfer misery is the stuff of proper gloom…

    should read..

    Bassong – cracking ‘n’ young
    Guthrie – cracking ‘n’ young
Guti- not clinical maybe but a decent marauding winger to add to the mix
Colo – doing just fine in a cursed position in which his 15 predecessors have been persecuted by the toon lynch-mob annual centre-halve scapegoat brigade….of which you are obviously a proud member.

xisco – a victim of circumstance – who knows what he’d be like if we (Lord forbid) decided to groom him…

compare that to the previous summer with allardyce’s (well funded) overhaul-

smith, cacapa, rosenthal, geremi, enrique, viduka, barton….

something tells me those won’t be tickling your fancy much either!?!? Reet?

The acid test will come when we get an offer from another club for him if it’s more than we paid for him.

This is of course if he turns out to be any good.
