Richard Money was pleased with the perofrmance of the Newcastle Under 18 side last night when they rather easily beat QPR 3-1 in London even though the score hardly represents just how much the youngsters were on top at Loftus Road.
Richard Money – has done well with kids at Newcastle
Goals from Jeff Henderson, James Taylor and Dan Williams, put Newcastle well on top before QPR got a consolation goal with just over 10 minutes to go, and a a delighted Richard Money said today from Lonfon:
“It was a really good win and the lads did really well.”“On another night we could have been three or four ahead by half-time.”
“There were a lot of good performances out there from young players, and I am delighted with effort they have shown.”
“It’s a tough tie away to Manchester City in the next round, but these lads are capable.”
Newcastle went a head after just 6 minutes last night and never looked back as they put in a superb poerformance, and the next toind will be a tough one, as Manchester City have an excellent youth set up.
We have noticed that a lot of the youngsters who are young enough to appear for the Youth team do not seem play for the Under-18s, but seem to get their gasmes with the resreves side, and these include: Ole Soderburg, Tamas Kadar, Ben Tozer and Fabio Zamblera, and obviosuly our Under-18 team would be a lot stronger with these lads playing.
But it seems they have progressed already and are getting nearer to the first team squad – we hope so anyway.
We are big believers in the youth set up and have been very pleased this year with the play of some of our youngsters.
The tie against Man City must be played before January 31.
