Newcastle Defense Again Key In Tomorrow’s Game

One of the keys to victory tomorrow is that our defense put in  a strong performance at Ewood Park, and hopefully can again keep a clean sheet – and one of the key players in our defense these days is 22 year-old Frenchman Sebastien Bassong.

seb-bassong-2

Sebastien Bassong – important he has another good game tomorrow

Seb was disappointed at going out of the FA Cup on Wednesday, but knows we only have the league to concentrate on now:

Bassong spoke to the Evening Chronicle today:

“We have to get back to the league now and we must concentrate on Blackburn.” “After the Hull game we knew we had to forget about it very, very quickly.”

“In some ways it was a good thing that we had this game so soon after Hull, even though I know the manager has plenty of injury problems.”

“And we have to forget about all of the events of Wednesday night.” “If we don’t, we will find it difficult to get three points because that is what we are aiming for tomorrow.”

Bassong has been part of a Newcastle defense which has played particularly well away from home this season, but has just leaked far too many goals at St. James’ Park.

But Newcastle have still kept four clean sheets from their last five away ganes.

Seb added:

“That’s something positive that we can build on.” “We have defended very well in some matches recently away from home.”

“It bodes well when you hold Chelsea to 0-0, and if you can do it there, you feel you can at any club.”

“These are things we have to remind ourselves of.” “We only have the league to think about now.”

“So we can concentrate on having a good run between now and the end of the season.”

“People say we have tough games, but we have to show what we are made of.”

A strong defensive performance tomorrow, and some goals against a Blackburn side that has leaked 17 goals in their 10 home league games would be nice.

Blacburn have conceded  36 goals this season, second worst only to WBA who have conceded one goal more, and while they have tightened up under Big Sam, we may still be able to get the result we all want tomorrow afternoon by 5:00 pm – a win – wouldn’t that be sweet.

Comments welcome.

Bassong was like a rock on Wed and last Sat, never backs out a challenge – has to watch the headlocks in the box like.

They will have to work as a team tomorrow and push it forward!

I have to disagree – with Boring Sam undoubtedly playing all out defence (he would just hate to lose against us!), I would say that Michael Owen needs to pull his socks up and show the other clubs – who he seems to waiting on for a nice pay deal in the summer – exactly what he can do. Some of our midfield to get their act together and score some goals as well!

That has to be the best photo of Bassong in existence. He’s not even heading the ball he’s just concentrating really hard.

    Defence what defence ???

The next (5) games are going to be tough !

That just shows how far we’ve dropped, we’re not even playing a top 5 team.

In fact all the teams we’re playing are below us at the moment!

Bloody hell and we think thats tough!!

The reality is they will be tough games, because our position is a false one.

TRE – I actually think our defence is currently the best part of the team and considering we are known for having a crap defence that really says something about the rest of the team.

Seeing as my prediction for the Hull game didn’t go too well, I blame the lack of radgies in the crowd. I’ll go for 2-1 to the toon with a looping Philipe Albert style chip from just outside the box by Bassong to win it.
    For anyone who doesn’t know what I’m talking about;

    1) Why Not?

    2) Seriously Why Not?

    3) You mean you really don’t know?

    4) Watch the 5-0 thrashing of Manu from Oct 2006.

    Best. Game. Ever.

Blackburn have what is called New manager syndrome. When Fat Sam first came to us we had a good start as well even though it eventually got worse. Blackburn will be looking forward to the game tomorrow, plus with their last match called off they haven’t had a game in 2 weeks whereas the bulk of our first XI was playing on Wed night.

Considering that Blackburn played a much weakened side against Blyth on Jan 5th most of the players that line up against us tomorrow will have had a three week break. And like i said. We were playing Wed night.

before the stoke (cup)game chris mort claimed that what ever the result was big sham would not be sacked though i did not like big sham’s football i was happy that we finally might have had an owner that was ready for us to have STABILITY

though this would be a contradiction (aswell as a sign of things to expect) because big sham was sacked(from which he had to find out from the media as MA was cruel enough not to say anything to him before the media which would also be a future sign of MA’s lack of decency respect and honesty aswell as cowardness)though this was not realy picked up as the majority were happy that the horrable football had gone(me too)

then 2 weeks later DAVID CRAIG confirmed the appointment of KK which was front page news people were literally dancing in the streets but at the same time expectations increased rapidley

also 2 weeks after that the poisoned 1 (DENNIS WISE)had aken over as director of football staing that KK would have the final say on transfers and like fools we believed him

as the season finished there was a buzz and excitement about the club as we dared to dream of who we may sign

that was until fat ash and the poisoned1 threw a bucket of cold water in our faces and woke us up with unknown names which would become the specialty

though the signings did prove to be good as we found out after a hard earned draw against the league and european champions with spiderman looking exceptional

some fans werent happy and sniffed that something was up and that things werent what they seemed to be especially with the sale of milner but most remained confident with KK hinting atreplacemnt

the better signing never came and on deadline day we were set to be very disappointed

the morning after came a shock that would also be worthy of front page news that KK had left the fans were up in arms about it which was proved with mass protests that english football had never seen any where near the likes off and will possabley never see again

the loyal fans were only angered further as the infamous”fact” statement seemed to be a slight against KK aswell as also turning a blind eye to some truths

after immense pressure MA reluctantley agreed to sell he immediately left for dubai and made a fool of him self as best he could though it seemed he was endearing himself to know 1 in dubai

eventually he returned to england and left the responsabilty of the sale of the club to KEITH HARRIS

aswell as this the club was ppor on the field with CHRIS HUGHTON struggling as caretaker and the team lacking leadership so

JOE KINNEAR later known as JFK was hired as interim manager much to the fans dismay though it was reported that KINNEAR was 17th choice according to MICKY QUINN

JOE KINNEAR as so it turned out was very unhappy as at the press’ portrayal of him and so launched an incredable 52 swear word rant at journalists during a press conference which with the toon fans dislike towards the press proved to be a big hit with the geordie faithful

JOE KINNEAR proved to steady the ship and get some decent results

though has been known to contradict himself on many different occasions which has left many of the toon army wondering whether he is just ashley’s puppet

so there is a summery of what has happenned not that i need to tell any 1

so why i have i wrote this

to help explain to how we got to where we are now and it pains me to say this but we have to accept mediocracy at the very least for 3 years

MA doesnt look as though he is willing to spend

he wants to do things on the cheap and claims that he wants to spend 20 mil which so far looks to be short of the mark

though will 20 mil even be enough when you considder what a lot of other teams can spend
i.e citeh, man u, chelsea liverpool, villa, tottenham, and arsenal

from now on in the epl you need billionaires not millionaires and though ashley was 1 time the better of the 2 i mentioned he has lost a lot since then and currentley has an estimated worth of 800 mil

this in the future may prove ot be a bigger problem than we think if MA keeps loosing money at this rate what is to say he wont go completely broke (especially if he keeps hanging around in casinos)

if this was to happen we could very well be the next leeds or even worse (gulp) despite MA paying off some debts

financially these are worrying times for NUFC but what about the other aspects of running a football club

well these areas havent been great either in particular because of MA’s poor decisions lack of communication and all round stupidity

he seems to lie for the fun of it

in terms of what happend with KK

i love KK but what was he thinking

if the policy was youth then why did he appoint the manager who sacked the academy last time round

why did he lie to 1 of football’s most honest and principled people

Clubs are signing players now but NUFC are standing by. TBH i don’t think NUFC have put in any bids at all for MBIA,GOMEZ and i don’t think they even tried for Neill. Funny how WHAM have said they have heard nothing from NUFC regarding their player. The Rangers manager said exactly the same thing about Ferguson not that i wanted him to sign anyway. It seems all lies to wade the fans off a little longer. LIES,LIES,LIES. I hope i am proved WRONG.

Let me get this straight… our great captain mickey owen has stated that he will wait until the end of the season to decide if will sign a new contract, essentially meaning he walk into a lucrative pay packet with us receiving nothing in exchange.

why on earth would we agree to this??? what has he done for the club since we paid 17M to acquire him to give him this much pull?

surely it’s quite simple…i’d put it to mickey in these simple terms, sign the contract (even a one year extension) or you’re being sold to the highest bidder, sorry mickey as much as we love you and want to respect your decision we can’t afford to have you leave for nothing in the summer, simple.

owen and given to citeh for ireland and sturridge, fu(k it sturridge straight up
