The Newcastle manager has today asked the Newcastle fans to get right behind the team, as the Magpies will be fighting relegation for a third season in a row – unfortunately.
Joe Kinnear – asks for support of Newcastle fans
Joe said last night:
“It’s very important everyone sticks together following our Cup exit,” “We can’t achieve anything without the support of our fans.”
“Losing to Hull was a blow. We went down fighting but I was really hurt by that result because the Cup was something I desperately wanted to stay in to give everyone a lift.”
“But we’re not and the facts tell us we are now fighting relegation which a massive club this size should not be doing.”
Newcastle are still ravaged by injuries and they will have 10 senior first team players missing from tomorrow’s game at Blackburn Rovers.
And we still haven’t yet signed anybody in the transfer market, although that may change after the trial game next Tuesday when Peter Lovenkrands and two potential loan signings will take part in that game.
Joe continued:
“I’ve got some promising kids and I don’t want to throw them into a relegation battle, but that is what I’m doing because they’re all we’ve got,”
We basically had no luck at all against Hull City and were the better team, but the players and Joe Kinnear need the support of the fans now more than ever.
Comments welcome.

Comment #1We get behind the club week in week out, 4,000 will be down there tomorrow. I don’t think it’s the support he needs to be worrying about.

Comment #3As has already been said, the support will be there …..at least to the end of the season…..but its next season that Irish Joe and the Gang need to worry about because the much needed new signings just don’t seem to be imminent and we just ain’t the attraction in terms of big wages and European football as we were years ago so can’t see the quality coming in to excite the fans.

Comment #4Joe you are absolutely correct. A massive club like this should not be fighting relegation. It shouldn’t have a tight money grubbing shithouse for an owner or a black Jack dealer for a chairman and most of all a lying yes man for a manager!

Where has he been lately?
Geez this guy is a crack up, I am actually thinking this is all a hoax and this season is all made up.
It’s just that some of his comments can not be serious, I personally think this old man needs to be committed into an asylum if this is normal from him.
We have been one of the worst performs clubs and we still get 50k at games, and people from all over the world like me, out and about at all hours of the morning, trying to catch a glimpse of the club in action.
Over here in Australia, every buffoon is a Man United supporter, but when I go to a bar and I see a few Toon Fans watching the games, boy I realise we are the most passionate!
Yet, they cry for our support even though they have turned this club into a disaster and the worst it’s been for a long time.
Yet they lie to us, treat us like simpletons and act in a very unprofessional manner, but still come out and say they want our support?
Shut the f**k up Joe and concentrate on keeping us up you dodgey old geezer. Support is there and always will be long after your no longer here, and Fat Ashley is gone!
Somebody impose a media ban on this clown!

Comment #14Hey Joe, hey Joe. There is no need to ask us the fans! It is Ashley and Co who need to be demanded that. It is not your bulging gut Mike we need to see it is the inside of your bulging wallet. If Ashley’s passion matched that of the Toon Army we would be challenging for a European place right now with KK at the helm, instead of all men to the pumps against Fat Sams circus.

Comment #16I havent checked checked the footy news for a over a day as I’ve been on the lash.
I awoke this morning with a pounding head, and I thought “Brilliant, I’ll check the internet to see how many of those signings have been made. That will cheer me up!!”
It appears Joe’s bleatings about transfers this week have been total lies. Why am I not shocked??
And to think he’s been offered a new contract. Oh my god, words cannot describe how much that makes me despair.
Joe, you have my support, but only because I HAVE to support NUFC and have no choice. Apart from the youth setup I can think of nothing I like about the club anymore. Just some hazy memories of standing in the Gallowgate watching Mickey Quinn bang them in, back in the second division.
It’s funny I should mention those hazy days of old, because thats where we will be next season I reckon.
The club is in ruins and it is sad to see.

Comment #17From todays Journal:
I introduce the ever conformist Joseph Kinnear, speaking about bad boy Joey Barton.
“There’s been no bid,” he insisted. “Tell Gary Megson he is talking crap.
“I am confident Joey will still be here at end of month. We will not have anybody who is an asset to us out of the shop window. Not a chance. Wait and see if I am right but I assure you, I am.”
Sssshhhhh, if you listen quietly enough you can hear Zola and Walter Smith grumble, “Bloody hypercritc”

Comment #18I’d like to echo my support of the views expressed in almost every post above.
Getting a bit tired of Joe’s ‘stream of consciousness rantings. They are so erratic and often contradictory that they don’t show much more respect forthe Newcastle supporter than the wall of silence which preceded it.
Talk of a ManCity increased bid for Given to 8 million today. But after that obscene bid for Kaka, a display of financial muscle, they must know that every other player they bid for is going to cost them so much extra just because its megabucks City. Welcome to the world of the rich and famous. Shall we start the bidding at 18 million?

Comment #19We can’t achieve anything either if you keep getting yourself sent off Joe. I would prefer it if Richard Money was in charge of the 1st team, he is doing a fine job with the youngsters and his coaching methods and tactics are relevant to 2009.

Comment #20The JFK interview is on TalkSport this morning sometime.
We always support the team. Unless you take into account the kno*s who boo our own players ie Babayaro,Carr,Butt and more recently Geremi.
We just need to all stick with it for a while longer

Comment #21As for the match today, well i’m at work and hopefully i’ll be so busy i wont get a chance to listen to the radio.
I’m fearing the worst.
Rovers are improving or at least becoming a team again with Big Sam in charge.
We are lacking confidence again, with a thread bare squad, not looking too good.
Does anyone know if JFK is banned for this game, or is he making an appearance for all or part of the game?
The score will be somewhere between 0-0 and 3-0 to the home team.

Comment #24I’ve been supporting Newcastle since I was 12.
Sounds good, doesn’t it…well now I’m 16 and although I am disappointed about last few seasons, I will never stop supporting TOON.
It’s TOON 4 LIFE, isn’t it. Never been to the game though, every weekend I am trying to find a stream here in Slovenia. Hopefully today’s game will be a breakthrough and we will drive the club forward in 2009, isn ‘t that so Mike Ashley.

Comment #25i hear that MA is not a billioniar any more. the good news is he still hass 870million…
the guy is a fool, he should not not have bought a premiership football club if he was not goin to spend any money on it..
there not cheap things to own and run..
but he did buy a club that generates a lot of cash, so maby he could spend a little of what we make..
out of the 225mil he has spent on the club , he must of made somthing back by now …

Comment #26I’ve just heard the Kinnear interview on TalkSport and I’m not too confident that we will be bringin any players in this Jan.
Joe came up an excuse about Man City having an impact on our transfer prospects!
