Kinnear Must Cut Out Excuses And Get On With It

Joe Kinnear had the Newcastle fans turn on him for the very first time on Saturday, after the lads had put in a very good shift in the first 45 minutes and had looked a decent side.   But then we fell apart after the penalty.

joe-kinnear-34343

Joe Kinnear– cut out the excuses – and get on with it

But one of the things the traveling faithful will not have liked was the ineptitude once again of the Newcastle defense.

Ands the arguing between Enrique and Barton brought back memories of the disgraceful behavior under Graeme Souness of Dyer and Bowyer – and we do not want to see any more of that.

Joe talked to the Newcastle Journal this morning:

“I understand how the fans feel, they’ve been phenomenal since I came,” “The fans are crying out for success, and I’m not trying to hide from that. They want to see Newcastle do well and, in the second half, we disappointed them”

“They’re going to vent their anger and, nine times out of 10, it’s the manager that gets it. I suppose previous managers have had the same treatment, but I feel for them and understand where it comes from.”

“They don’t know the ins and outs of what’s happening at the club, and they don’t know just how tough it is. They might be chanting for their favourite player (Gutiérrez) but they have to understand he hasn’t trained this week.”

“The sad thing – and I’m going to hate saying it – is that being out of the (FA) Cup might be a blessing in disguise. I know we should have annihilated Hull (in last week’s third-round replay, which they lost 1-0), but it’ll give us two or three weeks to get players back.”

It even looks like Kinnear put on Gutierrez for the fans, but that may have been dangerous if he wasn’t fully fit.

There are a number of things Joe can do to get the fans behind him, because after all he has inherited the problems basically caused by the Newcastle Board, and it’s hard to blame either Keegan or Allardyce for the mess we are in right now.

Here’s a few pointers for Joe:

  • Don’t make excuses – face the facts – Keegan was brilliant at that and even apologized if things sounded like excuses. Newcastle fans are sick of excuses  – we’ve had far too many of them
  • Get the lads playing 100% and together and show the pride and passion which is Newcastle United.
You can see that in our brilliant fans, who are acknowledged continually by those in football – including  even Sam Allardyce after the game on Saturday
  • Get players in during January – if we don’t do that, for whatever reason or excuse, we could be doomed and we will deserve it.
If the Board are not supporting Joe, then let the fans know what’s going on – we have absolutely no idea what Ashley or Llambias are thinking, and basically never have since they say nothing – all the time   😀

But the major thing Joe has to do is somehow strengthen the squad – while we can – even if it means going higher for Stephane Mbia – who certainly looks like somebody who can strengthen our squad.

But he will have a lot more clubs after him in the summer so get him now.

A good example of failing to do that was when we could have had Andrei Arshavan from St. Petersburg for £8M last January – but we didn’t do it.

Get Mbia now- please.

I like Joe as a man, but then I liked allardyce and Roeder but they just weren’t meant for us in the end. I think ultimately joe could play a role in the club if he wanted but it would be best at the end of the season to let him go, hope he keeps us up while he’s here though.

joe simply isnt good enough, and never has been, he needs to be gone by the end of the season so we can bring in someone decent for next season, he was only ever meant 2 be a stop gap manager and thats all he should be, but ashley will have gotten him cheaper than any other managers so thats probably why he loves him so much

JFK has said we don’t know the in’s and outs of the club. Wonder why that is Mike?

Is it because nobody communicates with us FFS!!!

JFK aslo said the club is heamorrhaging money!

Why is this? We have a higher turnover than most clubs, yes we have a higher wage bill but isn’t Mike Ashley supposed to be a super businessman? Why doesn’t he try and increase the turtnover of the club?

He could do that by investing some money. He’ll get fans back straight away and with 20m spent there’s a chance we’d get into europe!

Joe is wrong, i think we know exactly what is going on at the club, we follow this club so closely we even know what the mice are doing.
The key is to stand up for yourself Joe and tell it like it is and put the blame not on the previous 2 Managers but where we all know it lies.

Is it at present 4 wins out of 18 or yes the next tale you tell us is its the past Managers to blame! did you go into the job with your eyes Closed ? your all mickey mouse never mind the refs.you cannot believe a word you say, Kinnear is a Irish paddy Conman

Heyyyyyyy our turnover must be good – third highest supported club – also third highest gates this season even with what Cashley has done.

They have sold a load of players – cut wages, never replaced behind the scenese staff ie training staff etc.

Get a grip there are about 14 teams worse of than us with revenue and they arent making excuses

Joe is a good manager, God knows we have had too many as it is so I do not want to see someone else come in. If the board came out and communicated with the fans then a lot of the criticism they are getting (Perhaps unfairly – who knows?) might stop, but while there is an information blackhole they will always be subject to rumour, speculation and unfair criticism. I work in Customer Service and the one of the many strategies we work towards is Open and honest communication with our customers, I think Newcastle United could take a leaf…

    Forthcoming Event at SJP!

A Masterclass in successfully owning a football club.

February’s in-house Masterclass is all about Innovative Leadership and will share how innovative leaders inspire their teams and drive creativity.

    The masterclass will ask:

Why making the current business work better is not enough

How assumptions limit our ability to conceive better solutions

How and when to take a different point of view

    How leaders empower their people

A yet to be revealed recognised buiness guru will present and share with us stories, examples and practical advice around the topic of Innovative leadership.

The Masterclass leader prefers to remain anonymous at this stage – his fame and repute may well detract from the message.

This Masterclass is ideal for anyone who is involved in leading people or managing change.

Any suggestions for the identity of the Masterclass leader?

We might be losing money because of high business expences covering nights out, booze cruises (New York and Dubai), HBOS losses and of course something that every business needs; casino debts.

I am bored of the club spin and been anti ashley from pretty early doors.

What we need is investment now otherwise we are going down.

If Ashley wants to save some cash ship out smith, viduka and the other sicknotes and invest 30m in this window.

    I can’t see it happening.

I was astounded to read last week about JK getting a new 2 year deal the man is clearly out of his depth.

I have a horrible feeling though, even if we sell Given for £15m, and Zog for £7m Geremi for £1.8m, Joke will still only have £10m to spend in January.

It would be nice to see the money re-invested, but in all honesty how many people can say that it would be??

Add to that make Barton skipper.

JFK needs to stop spouting shite. Hasnt he come out today and said he doesnt want any frees? Lovenkrands anyone?

He opens his arse and speaks aload of shite. Id rather be told the truth. We cant afford to up M’bia bid? fine. Dont lie about it, just go for some others that we can afford and would improve the team not just squad. Bullard 5mill, pennant 2mill etc.

Another thing, sell zogbia who obviously wants out. That will generate cash. Try for some good swap deals with Given if hes set on going, or Harper. We need to face it that if players want to leave, let them go, but at least if we let Given go to Man shitty then we should be looking for 2/3 of johnson, onhuha, sturridge, elano, ireland in a swap deal. this would serve to get shay to a club he feels are better and will improve him, but also strengthen the team and squad, with a more than able deputy to come in so as not to weaken us. It is surely a win win?

Dont get me wrong I would rather shay stay, but if it is a tossup between him staying being unhappy and us not getting reinforcements in, or him going promote harper, so hes happier, and also get 2/3 outfield players in positions we clearly need to strengthen then I know which I would rather have.

Having read the full article in the journal.

Bottom line we are skint and the club is loosing money – haemoraging or how ever you spell it.

So if this latest is the case. We have to sell before we can buy and in the summer Viduka, Owen, Smith and Geremi will have to go.

barton must stay in my view – but we can argue that out later.

That aside we have players who must SORT themselves out. Take Tottenham as an example yesterday – went down a goal got some injuries but got on with it.

JFk if you dont want a fans revolt you have 9 day to sort the team before Citey.

If Given went to Man City and we got Onouha and Johnson, either as a straight swap or them two plus a couple of million, then that would be superb! Resign Harper, bring in M’Bia and Lovenkrands, as well as the youngsters we have on trial, and I will be happy 🙂

I’m sick of his rants at Keegan & now Fat Sam, they both wanted to get players in but Ash & Co wouldnt get their chosen targets and decided to buy their own. Joe is full of crap, just SHUT UP spouting about it being someone elses fault.

The reason we dont know whats going on is because you and your team dont tell us. How are we supposed to know that Jonas hasnt trained all week, F’kin tell us in your press conference and we wont have a go during the match you stupid pr!ck. How simple is that?

And how on earth are the club losing so much money? Is Ashley taking out more than Fat Freddy and Doug Hall did?

Only Man U make any money anyway.

With our an base we should be concentrating on increasing turnover, but NO Ashley is reducing it by alienating the fans!!!!

He thought he could make money out of football and now he knows he can’t he’s just gonna let it tick over till he can find a buyer.

Ed, I think your article is slightly harsh against Joe. He’s been put into a situation where he’s been told to put up and shut up.

Keegan did the same, but he still spit his dummy out. I love KK, but he didn’t fight for us, like he wanted the players to do. A bit hypocritical!!!

Now I see Joe fighting in the dugouts, he’s always taking the brunt. He needs money to buy players, plain and simple. How anyone can say that Joe is doing a poor job, when he’s had us in the same position other managers had us in at the same stage of the season. Does anybody notice the pattern emerging?

We have an unbalanced and weak squad. We need better players coming through the door, which requires money. So who’s to blame? Joe, I don’t think so, as he’s obviously targeted quality players, but the board won’t release the money!

Lets support Joe, and let him have his gripes. He;s only telling us whats stopping him from doing a better job. At least he is talking to us, as the board bloody well aren’t!

So Joking a bit of advice here –

Go and ask Cashley how much money the club would lose if we went into the fizzy pop league.

Go and ask Cashley what has he done with the season ticket money, three different shirt sales, tv money, Shearer’s Bar’s money, player Sale money ie Emre, Milner to name but a few and the rest – the list goes on and on.

Cashley was here when all this money came in SO WHAT HAS HE DONE WITH IT.

Other clubs with half the support we get are coping and buying, tell Cashley Mr Joking that he is not unique – Welcome to Football

If JFK goes, who would want to replace him? I dont belive he´s the best manager out there and I hardly believed it when he was announced as our manager, but I dont think any proven manager would like to work under the current regime so just hope that he can bring back some passion and fighting spirit to the lads and keep us up this season! For some other reason I hope to have Alan Smith back soon, he has had a really bad time here but at least he work he´s socks of and I would like to see him as a defensive midfielder, like the days at Man United.

    Duff – Barton – Smith – Jonas

But his job is being hindered by the board and the lack of support they are providing him.The manager is accountable to everyone at the club from staff, to players, to board members and ultimately to the fans as well. But he will get all the crap for eiather of these people not doing their jobs properly. Hardly fair!!!

Wrong, what about Lambiarse? Hes a big problem. Like I say, if the money aint there then it isnt there, nothing majorly wrong with that, but what I object to is being lied to, being given a load of shite, getting all hopes up and then dashed. I would rather be told that theres very little money, bids havent been accepted and we cant go higher. The club will continue to search for affordable players and is committed. Everton have no money, but they dont give flannel and lies to their fans. open and honest is what we want.

As I said, there are at least 2 players who are up for sale who would improve us, we have zog whos desperate to go who we can get cash for, and given who wants to go and we could get 2/3 very good players in a swap deal without feeling it in goal with harps to step up
