Mbia Has Poor Game Yesterday With Kinnear Watching

As we all know by now Kinnear ran the rule over Rennes midfielder Stepane Mbia in their away fixture at Lille yesterday afternoon, and we were told also that Lille’s center-back Adil Rami was under close scrutiny.

6209231

Stephane Mbia – had ineffective game yesterday before being substituted

As it turned out Mbia played 79 minutes of Rennes’ 1-0 away loss to Lilles, with – would you believe it – the Cameroon midfielder not enjoying a good game yesterday at all .

The Newcastle target was subbed after an ineffective performance for Rennes, so that will at least make it difficult for Joe to pay over the £5M Newcastle have so far bid for the player – but there again it’s just one game.

Joe Kinnear talked about the situastion to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle today:

“We have made bids, but they’re nowhere near the valuation they want.”“We’ve offered over £5m for one player, but they’ve come back and said they want £8-£10m.”

“That’s out of my hands. I’ve identified the players we want, but whether we buy them is another thing.”

And so it all goes on – we didn’t realize things were so very difficult to bring players into a football club.

Kinnear said a few days ago that they came back and said they wanted £15 million. If it’s £8 – £10 million just pay it please. Whats a few million quid if we will lose next to £100 million by going down with absent t.v, sponsorship and ultimately gate money.

Tom_Toon said that M’Bia is not worth the fee that they are asking for and after that performance last night i would agree with him. If he was good enough or the premiership would he not have shown something against an average French side. We cannot just be sat though dithering whether to pay the money or not though, action has to be taken now.

Innit marvellous…. they offer £5m and they say they want £8-£10m (to be expected after a first offer) and Joe says it’s out of his hands!

He’s 62 years old, been around the block a couple of times and yet they won’t even trust him to negotiate a price. Is it any wonder he’s showing all the signs of a man nearing the end of his patience.

Is this shaping up to be a re-run of last summer’s debacle? All the signs are there and despite Ashleys conciliatory noises in December, he’s clearly reverted to type.

Sad to say, he’ll have presided over relegation and one thing’s for sure, Joe can’t be held responsible.

Mike Ashely is an absolute disgrace.

I can foresee Joe walking after this transfer window and Dennis Wise + Gus Poyet sat in the dug out.

I am convinced that M’bia is the Modric of this transfer window, and no-one of any note will be purchased. I am now resigned to the fact that Cashley will NOT SPEND anymore money on this club, which lets face it, is what he said after KK left, and I think he intends sticking to that. He has neither the wherewithal or the inclination. What a sad state of affairs.

Lets face it Joe has earned enough retirement money of Ashley now anyway. He hadn’t worked for 4 years before he came here and previous to that he was managing in the football league. £30,000 a match for 18 games. He’ll have well over 600k in the bank by the end of the month. Could afford a nice Mediterranean cruise for early February.

If he was really that good, then some other EPL team would have signed him by now!!! SIMPLE

We need a LB, RB, CM, RM.

Sell Given, Zogs and Geremi (possibly £17m)

Then sign a creative midfielder and a powerful, quick striker in the mould of Drogba! Surely £17m for those 2 types of players would be enough? I don’t think Gomis is that player though!

The club will only be in position to buy AFTER players have left.

    Given will be the first.

They are intent on moving on high earners and have been inviting bids for the likes of Barton, Smith, Geremi, Cacapa and Given. They have their valuation and if its met the player will leave. Only then will replacements be signed.

Mehmet Topal is infinitely better than M’Bia and cheaper too!

We could get Wissem Ben Yahia and Mohammed Ali Nafkha are both really good, young CMs and could be got for about £2.5mil for the both!

Both 24 or under, both internationls!

Joe Kinnear makes no decisions re who is leaving.

The decision to offload high earners has been taken and if their valuation is met they will sold.

i would still welcome mbia to newcastle. he is young and has good attributes.. he may take time to settle in but at least he has more experience than our youngsters.

    On Newcastle In General:

I have been thinking this for a while now and woke up at 3 this morning.. thinking about it.
basically i believe relegation is what this team needs [as much as it would hurt me if we did get relegated].

Kinnear would leave in the summer.. mike ashley would realise he has lost money, and this would make him invest more to make sure it doesnt happen again. a lot of our ‘deadwood’ or disruptive players would move on. Smith, Owen, Viduka, Xisco, Duff, N’zogbia would all go, Some of our key players would go aswell i.e Given. I believe Joey Barton would stay, i think he would want to prove he is thankful to us.

We could then bring shearer in, with all the players off the wage bill, and maybe some transfer money from selling players, shearer could bring in his own squad, mix with the youngsters we have at the club and start his managerial career in the championship to take the toughness of the prem off his shoulders. [Just like Roy Keane at sunderland]

Shearer would install confidence at this club and ensure players play for the club, and dont have any hidden agendas, which arguably 50% of our current squad do!

i seriously do believe this is the best way forward for the club. maybe not in the short term, but long term it could pay dividends.

    what does everyone think?
