Newcastle Complete Signing Of Top 16 Year-Old Haris Vuckic

We had reported on Haris Vuckic being signed by Newcastle United only a couple of days ago, and that was only according to Sky Sports, but since then many of our readers in Slovenia have confirmed that the Slovenian First Division side NK Domzale has put the news on their web-site that indeed their top midfielder Haris Vuckic has signed for Newcastle United.

Haris Vuckic – 16 year old 6’3″ old midfielder – and he’s still growing   😀

And it seems the deal is initially for the 16 year-old midfielder to sign up for an initial six months, with the option of a further three years if he still looks the part.

Haris has also now completed the medical and the gifted teenager is rated as one of Europe’s brightest young talents, and reports suggest he underwent a recent trial at AC Milan.

This signing, along with Brazilian Cai Ferreira and possibly Andras Gosztonyi – an 18 year old Hungarian midfielder who is on a week’s trial this week, shows out youth policy seems to be in full swing.

And yes, we know some fans are saying great – we’ll be good in 4 years time, and it’s true we must strengthen right now with first team players – nevertheless we now have a strategy that seems to be working quite well.

The hope is that these players, like Carroll, Kadar, LuaLua, Krul and Tozer right now, can come through into the first team squad, and we’ll have a very good supply of good players. and not have to spend £110M on one player, like certain clubs seem anxious to do – what a complete waste of good money that is.

As you may have noticed, we are not admirers of teams who go out and pay silly money for players, simply because we don’t think it is good for the long term health of world football – that’s the reason.  There’s just something not right about it.

Comments welcome.

Ed, I’m afraid I’m losing faith in MA with every passing day…

In an ideal world, we’d be aiming to have a well gelled team of Arsenalesque youngsters, but in reality if MA is still in charge I think we will simply become the nations biggest selling club!

    Is Wise preparing for CCC?

Stop wasting time bringing in youngsters when we need experienced players who can help us survive in the PL!

It’s all very well signing all these youngsters for the future but the future is now and a large influx of decent players is needed. The players we have are just not good enough. It might be a good idea to loan out our youngsters to championship teams now so they can get adjusted for next season when all our best players have left and we have been relegated.

In the U17 UEFA Champioship qualifiers he has scored twice against Turkey and once against both Russia and Northern Ireland. Not a bad start. Hang on in their lads the kids are coming.

Good to see the club can do something right. Shame the rest of it is complete shambles.

We should still be targeting youngsters while looking to sign first team players. I like the sound of this boy and the Hungarian, and hopefully they’ll sign and develop well.

But we still need 1st Team players for LB, RB, CM, RM at the very least.

Then we need youngsters to plug the gap in the reserves so that there’s more competition, so the Norwegian players may come in handy for that.

Then we need to sack majority of our coaches and get good quality staff into coach botht eh youngsters and the 1st team.

I keep saying it, but Chris Hughton, Defensive coach – ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH!!!!

As I said on a previous thread to those who say you win nothing with kids

Well add in Beye, Colo, Martins, Barton (???), Bassong, N’Zogbia to:

Kadar, LuaLua, Krul, Ranger and Tozer and that doesn’t look to bad to me.

    Trouble is:

    1) A crap manager

    2) Crap, aging, over paid, has beens and sicknote players, some of whom aren’t up for it and we’re haemorraghing ridiculous, unsustainable money to the likes of Viduka, Smith, Duff, Owen, Geremi on lower crowds, in the middle of a RECESSION.

While trying to offload that lot, good managers could still do something with the players we’ve got. For a start update the obviously pathetic training methods.

kash – except owen is not passed it. he has scored 10 goals this season and last week had the highest shot to goal ratio of any striker in the premiership for the season so far. hardly that bad.

if the rest of the team created more, he would score more.

Great – a 16 year old none of us have heard of. Now, I’m for young talent being signed and lots of it. But anyone remember Baheng or Zamblera?

The first signing of Ashley’s vaunted Wise scouting network. And where is he? Over 18 now and playing youth internationals but not good enough for our first team…compare that to Arsenal and players like Clichy, Fabregas, Diaby, Denilson, etc, etc. Or Man Utd with Possebon and the two full-back brothers.

NONE of our youth signings have been considered good enough, like the ones at those clubs. Why is that?

Now, I think Kadar might make it. Which makes one. If we were throwing youngsters out into the first team pool then that would be great, but so far its Lua Lua and Carroll only…and they came into the club long before Ashley!

As it stands we seem to be planning for some future when we can play these kids and think ourselves very clever for getting them before someone else did…but that future could well be in the Championship. Meaning they’ll play a few games, look good and be sold to Prem clubs while we continue to struggle.

to be fair Benjitoon, baheng has picked up a year long knee injury so not surprised we havent heard much from him and zamblera started the youth game the other night.

diaby was roundly booed by a large section of the arsenal fans in one of their recent games, denilson hasnt shown he can hack it permanently yet, clichy was brought through slowly at first, and fabregas is a special talent. as for possebon and the full back brothers, they havent set the world alight, aside from the one goal by ricardo(?).

also it is easy to put youngsters into a team doing well in a totally safe position, not so easy to throw them in at the deep end in a relegation battle.

having said all that i agree we need significant investment in senior players now!!
