Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear is working in lock-step with Derek Llambias over the transfers, as Newcastle United continue to try to bolster our paper-thin squad, before the window closes on February 2.
Derek Llambias – now has office in training facility
Joe Kinnear told the Evening Chronicle today:
“Derek’s down here on a permanent basis.”“I’ve moved him to the training ground – I wanted him more hands-on.”
“We need to be able to move quickly, and it’s easier to coordinate things if we’re working together at the training ground.”
“We’ve made bids for a number of players, and we’re waiting to hear from their clubs.”
That’s good but we would have thought Joe would have done this at the beginning of the window, but hey, it at least shows the club is aware they have to sign some players, and they are still trying hard.
The Board should know this is a big test of them, but if they get the job done, the fans will be more than relieved. If they fail they can expect some harsh treatment from the loyal fan base – but they will deserve it.
We hope they’ll come through for the club – big time.
Derek is also to do a deal for Peter Lovenkrands, whose agent flew into Tyneside this week. We also hear Peter is very keen to become a Newcastle United player
A source close to the Dane said today:
“Peter is desperate to sign for Newcastle and wants to show the fans what he is capable of.”
Peter could be a surprise for us on the positive side – but we’ll see shortly.
And we are probably the club’s harshest critics, but in the bigger world of football, Newcastle United is still thought of as a massive club , with the best supporters in the land.
We forget that a lot – in our frustrations at the club being so unsuccessful for far too long.
Howay The Lads!!
