Newcastle Still Keen On Bringing In Players

Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear is working in lock-step with Derek Llambias over the transfers, as Newcastle United continue to try to bolster our paper-thin squad, before the window closes on February 2.

derek-llambias-2

Derek Llambias – now has office in training facility

Joe Kinnear told the Evening Chronicle today:

“Derek’s down here on a permanent basis.”“I’ve moved him to the training ground – I wanted him more hands-on.”

“We need to be able to move quickly, and it’s easier to coordinate things if we’re working together at the training ground.”

“We’ve made bids for a number of players, and we’re waiting to hear from their clubs.”

That’s good but we would have thought Joe would have done this at the beginning of the window, but hey, it at least shows the club is aware they have to sign some players, and they are still trying hard.

The Board should know this is a big test of them, but if they get the job done, the fans will be more than relieved. If they fail they can expect some harsh treatment from the loyal fan base – but they will deserve it.

We hope they’ll come through for the club – big time.

Derek is also to do a deal for Peter Lovenkrands, whose agent flew into Tyneside this week. We also hear Peter is very keen to become a Newcastle United player

A source close to the Dane said today:

“Peter is desperate to sign for Newcastle and wants to show the fans what he is capable of.”

Peter could be a surprise for us on the positive side – but we’ll see shortly.

And we are probably the club’s harshest critics, but in the bigger world of football, Newcastle United is still thought of as a massive club , with the best supporters in the land.

We forget that a lot – in our frustrations at the club being so unsuccessful for far too long.

I think Lovenkrands will be a good addition. I also think, apart from a few promising youngsters, he will be the only addition worth having. We are being lied to by the owner and his cronies (that is when they do decide to speak!) all the time. We are deliberately misled when we are not being ignored. The whole arrogant shambles, which gives the gutter press a field day, reminds me of what Mark Twain said
    – people who do not read the papers are ill-informed, those who do are misinformed. And please do not tell me Joe knows what is going on. Of course he doesn’t cos we are having to tell him!

We may be keen, but which players are supposed to be coming?

Plus Citeh are playing silly buggers with these stupid bids for Shay?! I’m sure they must realise that we’d only let him go for proper money!

I’m sorry but I have to vent this deeper inner frustration, and this is the only option that I appear to have, regardless of how childish…..Join me if you feel like wise, if not, I strongly disagree, but respect your opinion!!

Can’t see us having many of these bids accepted because we just don’t have the money to throw around!I think it may be a case of loan signings and snapping up these trialists if they impress. We may be lucky and get one money signing for around £4/5m

Any ideas why he’s up here? Doubt it’s owt to do with buying, probably the opposite or even a domestic matter? Whatever, his wife or partner (assuming he’s got one) must feel like its seventh heaven back home!!!!

I was watching the Guy Ritchie film “Snatch” the other day… There’s a really psycho cockney gangster in that film and he wears black glasses and looks just like Lamb’s Ass there in that pic… any relation I wonder… both cockney casino owner gangsters that wear ugly black national health specs… sick grin…

    anyone else notice the similarity…?
