The Evening Chronicle is reporting today that Joe Kinnear held a private meeting between Andy Carroll and Charles N’Zogbia, and has tried restore some unity by placing both N’Zogbia and Carroll on the same team in training. Well another way to look at that is to stop them clashing again by being on opposing sides. 😀
Andy Carroll – looks the part for Newcastle
Joe Kinnear knows that he needs both stars for the long and tough battle ahead, and both are almost certain to feature in the trip to Manchester City next Wednesday.
We have top hope that Joe’s abilities of getting the best out of players, and getting good team spirit amongst the players can be seen next Wednesday, because it’s vital that we try to get something out of that game, and now end up with yet another defeat.
Any hopes of off-loading Cameroon midfielder Geremi appear dead in the water today for the United manager, since it looks like Besiktas have dropped their interest and it is unlikely the Turks will renew it during the current window.
But this isn’t bad news for us because Geremi is a better player than he’s given credit for, and we want players at the club who want to stay here, and fight for the Newcastle cause.
But it looks like Geremi is not a player Kinnear admires, and we would expect him to be sold in the summer, although a good run of form maybe could change Joe’s mind before the end of the season.
At the very least Geremi is a very good squad player, but of course he’s also one of our highest earners, and probably not worth the wages we are paying him.
We expect Geremi to join Viduka and Smithy as other high wage earners who will not be at the club next September.
