Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear, still under pressure to bring good new players into the club in the next 10 days, is confident that he’s signed a good one in Peter Lovenkrands.
Joe Kinnear – glad to have Lovenkrands on board
The former Rangers player, with his lightning speed and lethal left foot, could be a good buy for the Magpies, even as a free agent, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating , and we should see Peter make his debut at some point during then Man City game, when both sides will be desperate for a win.
Joe told the official site today:
“We’re delighted to get a player with such experience on board,”
“Peter has spent nearly two weeks with us now and has really impressed.”
“He’s settled straight in with the rest of the lads and has enjoyed being with us.”
“He’s definitely a threat going forward and we’re hoping that he can help us to get some of the points which will see us move up the table.”
Joe Kinnear has to be well aware of the mounting doom and gloom surrounding the club, with most fans’ organizations thinking the sky is about to fall.
The gloom and doom on Tyneside right now is nothing that cannot be lifted by the signing of four new players within the next 10 days, not to mention that we could actually get a win at Man City.
Have any of the doom and gloom merchants considered that?
It’s very good that this attitude is not being replicated by Joe and the players, who after all are the ones who can get us out of this mess, otherwise we might as well give up right now.
We’d rather support Kinnear and the players through the end of the season, because any upheaval in either ownership or management right now, will surely see us relegated.
And if that attitude is not popular – as we suspect it’s not, by some of the scathing emails we’ve received recently – so be it.

Comment #201Yes, or he’ll have to look at somewhere else in Europe, also because he cannot play just for the Premier League, which has several requirements. So I agree with you Tom, hope we don’t lose him for any other club to therefore be capable of grabbing the player in the summer.

Could it be Per Cilian Skeljelbred or however u spell it.
Brazilian Geordie does that mean he could be sold or just loaned out
it’s not skjelbred and it’ not hovland or flo. Maybe the svede or the finn, but certanly not one of the norwegians, i come frome norway, more exactly from a place near sogndal where hovland and flo come from and i can tell you with 100% asurance that its none of them.
