Lovenkrands – I Know All About Newcastle United

Peter Lovenkrands seems to be delighted at securing a deal at the Newcastle  club, albeit only through the end of the season, at least initially.

Peter Lovenkrands – now a Newcastle United player

Peter said today:

“I know all about Newcastle United and the size of the club and it’s always been a dream of mine to play in the Premier League.”

“It’s going to be tough this season because it’s so tight at the bottom — but we’ve got a lot of quality and hopefully I can add to that.”

“I can’t wait for my debut at Man City next week.”

“It’s a tough game but we know that every point counts between now and May so we’re certainly looking to get a result.”

Emotions seem have been running high in the training facilities, and that’s been a bit worrying to us, because the last thing we want to see is for the players to lose their togetherness, or willingness to fight with all they’ve got for the Newcastle cause, through May.

There is also a positive way to look at what’s going on in the transfer market, that could suggest we can still get a couple of loan signings in, and a player worth £10M, through the door before February 2nd at midnight rolls around. Quite honestly, if we can do that,  we expect to hear a huge sigh of relief from the Newcastle United fans, since things have looked so bad in the first three weeks of January.

And it’s clear that Peter Lovenkrands is keen to stay beyond the end of the season, as he continued:

“I’m delighted to sign a deal until the end of the season. I’ve got a great opportunity to impress and hopefully win a contract beyond then.”

“I’ve really enjoyed the past two weeks and I can’t stress how friendly the lads have been.”

“I’ve settled straight in and the banter with the boys has been great, and of course it helps that I speak English, albeit with a Glaswegian accent!”

Well Peter seems a nice guy, and he can soon become a hero at the club, by playing great for us through the end of the season, starting with our huge game at Manchester City next Wednesday.

We welcome Peter to the club.

Comments welcome.

Looks like Bullard has signed for Hull for £5m I think we have missed out there tbh. OK he is 30 but still has a lot of quality and so much passion, he would have been loved at st james’. He knows what relegation scraps are all about too, good luck to the lad at Hull i really rate him!

    Ryan,

I just said on another thread story that I cant wait to see him on SJP pitch against the mackems.

What a match to loose your SJP virginity!

A goal or assist would raise spirits on that day.

I know we have along way to go so its Citey first.

In times like these when some players talking about wanting out of Toon its always nice to hear someone who wants to play for Newcastle.

    Welcome onboard Peter!

He is from just across the water and let’s face it – his ancestors piled in here some 1300 years ago!!! I think he will be a good signing and, the way things are going, a welcome signing to continue with.

When lverkrands was at Rangers he was brilliant and useless all in the same match seen it with my own eyes. Just hope he has got rid of the useless bits. He is more of a provider than a finisher. Duff has to make way for him. wide players to be spiderman and PL

    Hope he’s the new Sibierski.

I think we would be better of playing him up front, with Owen as we have good wingers already. Don’t know what he’s like havn’t seen him yet. He’s suppost to be quick tho.

He played for wigan remember and then was close to joining bolton. Im pretty sure his family are still in the northwest!

wouldnt want him here anyway, he’s a good passer and good set piece taker but i think we can do better! i personally think guthrie is better

Welcome aboard Peter…I sure hope he can rekindle some of the finishing he use to supply for Rangers, He reminds me of Jon Dahl Tommason (when he moved to AC) With his relaxed finishes!! Has Peter still got bags of pace? Looking forward to seeing him in action 🙂

Re Ryan Toon & Toon Sweden77 , some cracking goals on the video and what’s good about him is that he can use his left peg too!

If he plays for us like he did in the vid (poetry eh?), he should do us more good than harm. However, he’ll only get the goals if he gets good balls ball played to him so the midfield’ll have to smarten its act up a bit.

He’ll give us another dimension and fingers crossed he helps us survive the season.

true but if he is for a striker we jhave decent cover there and is draining our wages unnecessarily but if he is on the wing then fair enoughg he is a good signing

He’s a free agent. He’s landed on his feet. Of course he wants to come here. Don’t let his horrendous injury record get in the way. Aging and injury prone, where have we seen that before !!Would have preferred to see Lua Lua get a go.

He couldnt have looked that great in training otherwise they would have signed him up for longer. I think wise feels that any old signing would please the fans so he went for the cheapest option. Well i am not pleased. We are getting left behind by teams like wigan and hull.
