There is news today in Firenzeviola that Newcastle have made a £4.5M bid for Fiorentina midfield player Marco Donadel.

The report in the Italian press today says that Newcastle have bid £4.5M for the 25 year-old Italian midfielder, who has been at Fiorentina since 2005, after being a graduate of the AC Milan Youth sides.
He has played 95 times for Fiorentina (3 goals) and 31 times for the Italian Under-21 side and stands 5’11” tall.
Marco Donadel was born in April of 1983 in Conegliano, Province of Treviso, Italy, and he began his career at AC Milan in 2000.
He was loaned out to a succession of clubs, including Lecce, Parma, Sampdoria and Fiorentina over the next four years or so.
After a successful half-season long loan with Fiorentina, the Viola signed him on a permanent basis.
He was the captain of the Italy under-21 team, and won the 2004 European Under-21 Football Championship with Itasly, and he also won a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics football tournament.
The report says that Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear has been interested in the player for some time, and it remains to be seen whether the bid will be accepted by the Italian club based in Florence, Tuscany.
