Kinnear Fined £500 By FA Over Micky Mouse Remarks – Ouch

Newcastle United’s down to earth manager Joe Kinnear has today been fined £500 by the English Football Association for calling referee Martin Atkinson “a Mickey Mouse referee” in our game at Craven Cottage, earlier in the season.

Joe Kinnear – fined £500 – obviously very upset

For a manager who will soon be making a few million a year as the long-term manager at Newcastle, that’s hardly even a slap on the wrist, but there again it was hardly a cause for imprisonment, after all.

At least he will not be banned, but he also has a charge for improper conduct, along with Hull manager Phil Brown still to come, for their little argument on the sidelines a few weeks back.

Reports the Walt Disney Company are bringing libel charges against Joe for comparing Mickey Mouse with Martin Atkinson are unfounded.

Harsh…Couldn’t they have just banned him from watching TV for a week, taken away his PSP or sent him to bed without a cornetto after his tea?

Ive just thought, after seeing what is in the Chronicle about the Q&A with the top brass, answer me this:
there are constant moans about the lack of communication – and rightly so – from Newcastle Utd, but which other club communicates to the fans as much as people are wanting NUFC to?
    just a thought….

Am I first! …oh hang on a minute, just remembered I’m not 5, and I don’t actually care.

£500? What can the FA do with that? Just about pay the cost of all the paper wasted on charges like this I guess. I mean really, it was just expressing an opinion. If Kinnear had called the refs a couple of f***ing t**t faced ar**holes with s**t for brains, then I might have understood.

Oh well…another day, another story from the Toon that has nothing whatsoever to do with football.

A speeding fine is about 10-15% of that (as well as points) and that’s an offence that can end up seriously inuring, or even killing, innocent people.

And as had been said, what’s £500 to either JK or the FA?

What exactly is the point in this ‘punishment’?

nimo (no 12) – £16m transfer fee + 3 1/2 years of 100k/week wages (£18.2m) and 30 goals in return. Take away the £6.7m we got in compensation and you get more like £900k, but still…

Bit of a harsh attitude to take when it’s a player who can’t really have helped his injuries and the shoddy team around him…
