Kinnear Would Love To Make Sexy Signings At Newcastle

Joe Kinnear as we all know doesn’t have much money to spend on new players at Newcastle right now, although he admits he would love to go out and make some sexy signings for the club.

Joe Kinnear – would love to make sexy signings

Kinnear goes against moneybags Manchester City tonight, and they have spent over £126M in the Premier League so far.

Kinnear told the Evening Chronicle today:

“I would love to go out and make loads of sexy signings.” “I’d love to build Newcastle United up that way.”

“But that isn’t where we are at right now.” “You see Tottenham going out and buying three or four players at a time and spending millions.”

“But I am trying to save the club and I am working with what I’ve got.”

“We’ve shown when we have a fully fit squad that we can beat the best teams.”

“And I will continue to do that with what I have.”

But the fact that Man City have spent so much also means there is considerable pressure on them to perform, as there is with Spurs, who have already spend a lot in the transfer market also.

But we don’t see either of these two clubs too much better than Newcastle right now.

In the Man City game at St. James’ Park we outplayed City and were leading 2-1 having played with 10 men for almost the whole game, after Habib Beye had been wrongfully sent off and penalized for a foul on Robinho, who took a dive in the penalty area.

City finally equalized in the 86th minute through Stephen Ireland to rescue their blushes in that game, and they haven’t really improved too much since then, as far as we can see.

Meanwhile, as we reported this morning Newcastle are said to be looking at 19 year-old Charlton youngster Josh Wright, who is a creative midfielder, with Aston Villa (who else?) also interested in his services.

Just to level set on the transfer window status – there are 5 days to go in the window and we have one player through the door, and a free agent at that.

We have yet to strengthen the defense and central midfield with any players, and those are the two areas of the squad the club admitted needed strengthening in January.

Get a move on lads, because there will be no excuses this time around.

Wishing and Hoping – as usual.

Sick of hearing how good our fully fit squad is. We NEVER have a fully fit squad, and wont for the rest of this season for sure. Getting more and more worried as the days go by in this window. I remember back at the start of December Joe was saying he already had his transfer plans drawn up. Well he obviously didn’t do a very good job. Really thought after getting drummed by Blackburn we’d be going all out for signings before the city game, but it doesnt even look like Ebondos on his way now.

Ive also got a feeling Shays going to be sold at the last minute on deadline day, so Mike “doesnt have enough time” to re invest the money.

    Spyro,

Joe is Ashleys puppet. He is currently being told by Ashley that there will be no big money signings. To make do with what he has and to get players back from injury.

Well there will be ‘trouble at mill lad’ on Sunday, I will be watching from a safe distance away in Gateshead.

Sexy football Joe? Go and buy Ashley a bikini and get some stockings and suspenders for the piggy eyed goblin. I do not know what you can fit up Dilly Dolly Daydream Lame-arse with. Joe – you are not listened to, the fans are not listened, many respected commentators are not listened to either. We need to concentrate tonight. It is the players and the fans who will be doing their best tonight – not Ashley, not Wise.
No tears over Shay cos Wise will have his way. So start as we need to go on – play Harper in what is his deserved place now.

Funny thing about Spurs is that the signings they have made so far are the ones they sold in the Summer. Talking about familiar faces, I bet Robbie Keane is next. And I am in no way envious of Spurs.

All we need is a left-back, Donadel, Ebondo and we will be alright. And yes, I’m glad that this club isn’t dumb enough to re-sign some of the ex-players at a higher price. I’ll take Aaron Hughes though, he is the only exception.

Wouldnt it be nice though if ashley was keeping all this money hes saving from tranfers, 10 mil investment for the year and other stuff for this summer when he gets in a quility manager and just splashes the cash in getting a whole new team bar a .

    Wishful thinking I know

Kinnears consant attempted reasurrance that we have strength and ability when a fully fit squad is incredibly depressing for two reasons:

    1. The fully fit squad he talks of is ficticious. We NEVER have a fully fit squad. We must be the premier leagues busiest treatment room by some way.

2.It all points to the fact that we wont actually, be getting anyone in this Window. I said from day one i was fearing the worst, refusing to build up any kind of hope and im incredibly glad i did because we’re clearly being fed rubbish and let down in yet another transfer window. One free agent through the door and it took us about a fortnight to get him in anyway. With only a matter of days left and the state the club is in, its canny clear that we shouldnt expect much, if anything to go on between now and monday.

I’ve always been incredibly optomistic, refusing to write us off because i’ve always had faith. Said attitude is becoming incredibly hard to sustain these days due to the fact that with every day that passes, it becomes that little more apparent we’re going to the dogs.

Pray for a point tonight. Who knows, maybe Robinho, or “robbie” as hughes likes to call him (sure he loves that one) is still banged up in a cell somewhere after getting fresh with some lass in a club. Doubt it however.

We so desperately need fullbacks and central midfield players (even in the summer we knew this) and if no players are signed this transfer window that can play in these roles then Ashley has learned nowt and is gambling on this club and his investments future.

    This is what I can see happening;

We go to City tonight and lose 2-1 or 3-1. The fans again chant Ashley out.
Ebondo deal falls through because of french team only having one RB and because of Habib Beye. We sign some other 17 year old kid (insert your own position here).
We get beat of the Makems by a sneeky Cisse goal.
Given goes for £9-10M on deadline day.
‘There was no time to sign players’

In the words of the Chaiser Chiefs. I predict a riot.

Ross. One has to wear a black and white shirt or decide who wears one to get done by the cops, courts, referees, or FA these days. Whatever happened to Gerards case? Silence is golden for the golden boys?

Beye, Guthrie and Martins all out. T’ain’t good. BUT let’s not forget that Citeh are having a rough week, and there’s every chance that they’ll be utter bobbins this evening.

And while I’d not bet against Craig “whersh-me-neck” Bellamy scoring, I’d give equal odds on him starting a fight with someone. Or a corner flag, for that matter.

Ericles-Sadly, Gerrards world profile is double that of Bartons, he’s regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world. Doing him for assault and having it slapped all over papers would be bad for his image. As pathetic as it is, thats the way it goes as far as i can see. Also, he’s a first time offender, they’ll probably find some excuse that has it look like he was hardly involved. An accessory to the crime shall we say.
The FA in general is ran like a circus for me. The Ref’s are awful, fines/bans seem to be one set of rules for a monday, the other for a tuesday. its a complete joke. Shame we always seem to get caught on the monday innit.

Here is one for you – Joey B goads at Bellamy all night and Bellamy reacts and Joey keeps calm and Bellamy gets a yellow.

Wow – my imagination has been sucked dry.

DJG – Oh yes. I was saying the same this morning to one of the lads at work something similar. Expect riot police and lots of shouting should this happen. Nowing me I will be in the middle of the crowd, as my exit is right by the usual bit where everyone gathers.

Everyone knows we need to strengthen up and MA does nothing. No preparations before the window to act quickly and now 5 days before the window shuts down; he shows the guts to see the game tonight. He is a disgrase to the club. I’m not wanting him to spend millions, but I just want him to show a bit of ambition in trying to buy a couple of players who can get us into a safe position.

Oh yes he buys a lot of youngsters, but wiil they ever reach our first team or will they be sold to fill MA’s pockets.
