Ashley May Not Have Money To Invest In January

Joe Kinnear has been making some strange comments this morning about Mike Ashley’s finances, and could it be that Ashley has no money to invest in the club in January, after all?

Joe Kinnear – squad may not be strengthened in January

Joe Kinnear said today:

“Michael has cracked a bone in his foot and he’s on crutches,” “I’ve spoken to the doctor and he has told me that it’s going to be between six and eight weeks, which is another massive blow for us.”

“To make matters worse, we think Joey Barton has broken the dreaded metatarsal, which will be between ten and 12 weeks.”

“It’s unbelievable how much bad luck we’ve had. That’s the way it been going for us, week in, week out, day after day, these are the problems we have to cope with.”

“I was disappointed with the way we played in the first half because we didn’t create much, but at least we competed a lot better in the second half.”

“The biggest problem is we have to constantly chop and change things, we’ve never had a settled side and we had to do that again tonight when Joey and Michael got injured.”

Despite all the news coming out of Newcastle United over the last 29 days, we still have only one new player in, and after listening this morning to what Joe Kinnear is saying about Mike Ashley’s finances, it seems like he has no money now to invest in the club.

The news this morning on Toulouse full-back Albin Ebondo is that the move is in danger of collapsing, after the French club raised the asking price for their 24-year-old.

We are starting to give up on there being any new faces in before next Tuesday, with presumably the money we get for Given and maybe even N’Zogbia being used to shore up things financially at the Tyneside club.

We don’t know this for certain, but Joe is making some odd comments about Ashley losing so much money in the credit crunch.

What a way to run a football club, and this is starting to remind us of what happened at Leeds United a few seasons ago, which would be a complete and utter disaster for Newcastle United.

But as we said we’re not exactly sure what’s happening at the club – but what’s new about that?

Comments welcome.

He probably only has 800 mil in his pocket so how could he possibly sanction some money for transfers. Well if he claims that he loves the club then at least show it!

Some one kick me in the balls.

It might sting a bit and leave a nagging pain for a while but least it settles and then goes.

You can relate so much to that with the situation at SJP.

    Barton to have operation tomorrow.

Never thought our season would be like this.

We were not the same team as per the first encounter at SJP. How have we come to this.

    Remember Manure 1 – 1. Gonna be 5 – 0 to them in march.

We have TWO defensive coaches yes? So why does our back never improve?

Defense – Mid and strike force.

Were sh*t and were sick of it.

Well £10m has already been added to the club, so that is there to spend, then take £15m from selling both Zogs and Given makes £25m.

If we could just remove the likes of Duff, Viduka, Owen, Smith, Cacapa and Geremi, that would surely half the wage bill, so the club would be operating at 35% of total revenue. Thats in the region of £400k a week, which would allow is to sign a youngster a week! But more importantly thats £20m in total for a year!

Even if we used £10m of that, add that to the £25m thats £35m. Which needs to be used to sign LB, RB, DM, CM, AM, RM, ST and a handful of youngsters!!!

A big ask, but more than doable considering other clubs have managed it!

    NOT GONNA HAPPEN THOUGH!

it would be dangerous to assume Mike Ashley will think of investing in NUFC in order to save us from relegation and wipe half the clubs net worth.
This guy did not perform any due dilligence when purchasing the club.
The club was bought for 134 million. and an approximated 100 million debt was paid off, on a condition that Mike Ashley can ask for that money back off the club in the form of a low intrest loan.
The clubs assets (including stadium, players, land, facilities) are worth over 134 million.

Therefor he could sell NUFC even if we went down and then have us pay the 100 million he borrowed us back with intrest and still make a profit.

the approximated 250 million he tried to sell us for at the begining of the financial crisis, included the money he bought the club for and the money he lent us, with a little profit for himself again.

Its all mess. We are just discussing here and getting mad at things. But I think these guys at club don’t care. Its very frustrating. I think there will be many fans like me who can’t even concentrate on work due to all this. Atleast I am very upset with and can not think this all is going on at Newcastle. Totally utter nonsense. Joe should first learn to deal with press. I have respect for everyone. But if we are not going to buy anyone then say in OPEN, HANDSUP , sorry we can not buy. Atleast we will then stop hoping for anyone coming IN. And think about something else, like might be how to keep spirits up and go on as usual with normal life. I think this saga at club is affecting lot of lives.

What a load of b*ll*cks has been spouted by JK about all these bids for players etc, etc complete hogwash.

I am sick & tired of this lot running NUFC after 53 years I don’t want to hear another thing about them. I’m gone, they can all f***k off the lot of them

if he invested 20mil of his own money he would reap the rewards! ticket sales would increase, merchandise and the whole morale in the club would fly up! that with the 15mil of zog/given would give us a great amount to buy a few good players! yeah 20mil is a hell of a lot of money to risk but its do or die!

5 players with that money would be average 7-8mil per person which would be the likes of Veloso, Mbaia, ebondo in the bag with spare for a cheeky bid on that leeds lad (forgot his name)

cut in tight for a few months then summer comes and get rid of 50% of our pay packet with viduka, owen, cacapa, duff, geremi, xisco and were laughing!

Somehow the whole affair stinks of the Satyam saga – Ashley probably bought the club so that he can fiddle with the club funds (from the TV earnings and the earnings from the goodies etc) and cover up the mess in his company. He doesn’t give a damn about what happens to the club…

Everbody knew we needed 5 new players then we lose Beye, Owen and barton, we are already without Ameobi, Guthrie, Smith and Martins and are going to sell Given and Nzogbia. The players in the team are shite, not one of them show any heart, we have a manager who hasn’t got a clue, A dwarf who is supposed to bring in new players( ha ha ha ) a managing director who has lost his voice and an owner who ? Doesn’t it make you feel good to be alive.

I officially declare that I give up on my club because of the hierarchy that is in place.

We have the biggest imbeciles running our club, from Ashley, to Llambias to Joe Kinnear, absolute stupidity running through.

The cancer has spread, we now don’t stand a chance i’m afraid.

All you Ashley lovers….this ones for you!

everone last week was saying mike actualy wasnt that bad after reading the financial statement the club released so how can u go back to hating him in a few days! we do need players yes , but why shud he spend his own money on them? would you pay staff out of your own money if u owned a business? i do think we will get atleast 2players in maybe on loan just to make sure we stay up which we will as boro, stoke, westbrom, hull and bolton are all worse than us

here’s a one for you. if we go down say and people have paid for the season tickets for the next 3 years, hows that going to work then. you would think that the ticket prices would have to go down in price, but they will turn around and say oh well you are getting 4 more games for the price. But then you can argue, well people got their tickets out for the three years to pay to watch premier league football. The first payment is due shortly dont forget as well. If people started to cancel their direct debits with the banks, that would certainly hit the club even more and hit ashley where it hurts, in his pocket.

i know people that have phoned the club to cancel and they were told that if they cancelled the direct debit that they would not get in to another game this season and they would be taken to court for the rest of the money. that is honest mate what they were told by people at the club
