Wigan Athletic have launched a bid for Newcastle United midfielder Charles N’Zogbia.
Charles N’Zogbia – £6M bid – should Newcastle take it?
That may have been the reason why he did not travel with the Newcastle squad yesterday, although the official news that he is injured is hard to believe.
This lad has been complaining about Newcastle all month, not to mention his frequent outbursts about wanting to leave the club since he joined from Le Havre in August, 2004.
And he has told anybody who will listen that he wants to join whichever club is said to be interested in him.
Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear admits he’s keen to raise funds for his own signings and The Sun says that Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is offering £6M for the Frenchman.
Aston Villa have also been reported interested in the player although Arsene Wenger has dismissed any interest Arsenal may have in the player, but that doesn’t stop the reports that Arsenal are interested in him continuing.
They were presumably keen on the lad a couple of years ago but not now.
Maybe Aston Villa and Wigan can get in a bidding war for him to increase the price – that would be good.
We’d be happy to see Charlie get out of Toon, because we don’t like whiners (whingers), which he no doubt is, but Joe has to make the decision if he can replace him before the Monday deadline.
The last thing we want to do is what we did in August, when we sold James Milner to Villa, said we’d replace him, but then dropped the ball.
But we half suspect the reason he got kicked up in the air by Andy Carroll in training recently, is that the 6’4″ local lad cannot stand whiners either – who also bad mouth the club.
But that’s just a hunch.
