Sunderland Debut Will Be Biggest Derby Ever – Nolan

Kevin Nolan is talking more of his very suprise move today, after Bolton’s midfielder joined Newcastle in a £4M deal that was all done within the last 24 hours.

Kevin Nolan – ready for the derby on Sunday with his number 4 shirt

Kevin Nolan was at St. James’ Park this morning getting a medical and quickly agreeing the terms offered to him by the Tyneside club on a four-and-a-half year deal.

And the reason it took the Liverpool-born lad such a short time to say yes to Newcastle United?

We’ll let Kevin explain to nufcTV:

“It was impossible to turn down, just the thought of playing in front of 50,000 fans every week and the best fans in the country was too good to say no to really,”

“It was bizarre how quickly it happened with just four days left of the window and I never thought I’d leave Bolton after nine years.”

“But it was a surprise, albeit a nice one, and I can’t wait to get started.” “It was always a club that if I were to leave Bolton I wanted to play for.”

“I’ve played here quite a few times and I’m looking forward to being in a black-and-white shirt now and having the fans on my side.”

“The first game doesn’t come any bigger and it will be the biggest derby I’ve ever played in,”

“I’m sure there will be a few nerves but I’m also excited and just can’t wait.”

“I just hope we can get the win and start moving away from the bottom of the table.”

The signing has been received surprisingly well by the Newcastle fans, because at this particular time Kevin is the exact type of player the club desperately needs, after Joey Barton was crocked for 10 weeks on Wednesday night. And the £4M fee is great business by the club.

This boy has guts galore, great leadership skills, not a little bit of skill, and he can score goals too, and he’s also delighted to be a Newcastle player.

What more can you ask for?

How about a goal on Sunday Kevin, if you really want to hear that famous Gallowgate roar.

I’ve always loved Nolan’s play for Bolton, granted he has slipped the past couple of years but I think this is a great signing for the club and I believe he will make an imediate impact…Newcastle 3 Sunderland 1; Nolan gets his debut goal and an assist

Rasmus Lindgren is a central defensiv midfielder. Swedish youthpro at Ajax who left them a couple of years agoe and signed for Groningen i think. He was successful there and then Ajax bought him back. I think he only managed 1 cap for sweden so far but he has been selected a couple of times bud withdrawn because of injurie.

toonaholic-i saw lovenkrands touch the ball once, it was a clearance. He wasnt exactly getting service when he was up top though, and he wasnt on for very long. 15 mins or so if i remember correctly. Looking forward to Nolan, the lads a grafter, a hard worker and thats exactly what we need with Barton being out long term. Also likes to get on the scoresheet every now and again, something our midfield isnt exactly familiar to, to say the least. Hope for a good debut against the scum. regardless, im still excited for it. Think i might put my shirt on tomorrow and just wait, haha.

Glad someone is happy to play for the club, although not a glamerous signing , could be a significant one.
I believe he will be a good addition to the club, few injuries, big strong guy, gets his share of goals, happy to have him.

Lindgren is a decent player. He is similar to Veloso in the sense that he is a DM with a fair amount of technical ability and vision. Lindgren for 3million or Veloso for 12million is a no brainer. However, he is not as tall as i would like our Butt replacement to be.

looks like mike ashley is not investing any extra money into transfers again. sell given get another player which looks like ryan taylor.

    given going for 10mil.

4 odd mil for nolan and another 5 odd for taylor.

talk of not letting given go is BS. talk of given wanting to go is BS. mike ashley and kinnar is BS.

his belly is moving up and down while laughing his head off lying to the public.

Why do you think that mate there is still a few days left in the window. We should be a little happier with Nolan and the possibility of R.Taylor signing. I hope the money from the Given sale and the money from N’Zogbia goes on a few other players if not i will wholeheartedly agree with you Square.

    I can see it now
    We win 3-2
Xisco with the first, Nolan with a great second and on the last minute a Ryan Taylor set piece to win it.

    Sound familiar?

I’m very pleased with this signing. Only a year or so ago people were crying out for this guy to be in the england team! He was up there scoring the kind of Goals lampard & Gerrard were. He will be a breath of fresh air in our team. If we got taylor in also that would be another good signing. Also heard that were front runners to get Saviola on a 6 month loan deal from Real too. It will be quite a decent window if our team after it is.
    R Taylor==Colo===Bassong==Enrique

How class would it be if Big Kev gets off the mark against the Makems!!!!!

I’ve not only heard this is true but that Darren Bent was the player involved in the tackle that caused it!

On a plus note Lennon, Jenas and Bent fit and travelled to Bolton unlike Defoe.

Hope he gets on the mend soon! We’ll need him in weeks to come!

As much as I’ve always been confident on NUFC victories – season after season – the head says ‘no fear’ tag has always been shrouded by the heart says ‘too many dwarves and bottlers in midfield’.

Personally I think Nolan is a bloody FANTASTIC signing. We’re starting to look like a hard (and technical) team again. Get Ryan Taylor signed, a left back would be nice, and a ‘big lad’ centre forward.

I’d also say someone that can whip crosses in should come before a ‘midfield playmaker’. We drastically miss Nobby, it’s clearly evident our strike force can’t do much without any decent crosses/corners.

Anyway ‘no fear’ on Sunday lads! COME ARN!!!!!

Well Kinnear said Given has been granted permission to speak to City but no fee has been agreed. N’Zogbia, again, no bid for him so technically still a toon player. N’Zogbia injured.
