Sky Sports News is reporting now that Newcastle have completed the signing of Bolton midfielder Kevin Nolan from Bolton on a four-and-a-half-year deal for a fee believed to be in the region of £4M.
Kevin Nolan – now a Newcastle United player – great!
This is a great deal for Newcastle and he will be able to make his debut against Sunderland on Sunday.
Kevin has played more than 320 games for Bolton in his 10 years at the Lancashire club, and it looks like Newcastle moved very quickly yesterday, after an emergency meeting of Joe Kinnear and the Newcastle Board to pursue the player.
The injuries to Joey Barton, who is out 8 weeks with a broken right foot and captain Michael Owen, who is out with an ankle injury for around 4 weeks, seems to have finally propelled Newcastle into action – at last.
We also have a £1.5M bid in for Wigan’s Ryan Taylor who can play either full-back or on the wing, and either left or right side – a very versatile and good player.
Newcastle are trying to get Ryan who wants to move to Newcastle, signed so he can also play against Sunderland on Sunday.
We expect to hear from Kevin on the official Newcastle site shortly, but it looks like he didn’t have much doubts about signing for Newcastle United, that’s for sure, and this will give a big boost to our squad for the game on Sunday.
It’s great to have Kevin at the club.

Comment #12It’s always the case, every transfer window. Everything is done on the last couple of days. But people forget this.
Still one swallow does not a summer make and we still need more players in before Monday.

But it depends if it is Given out and Nolan in, I would expect more if that was the case, but there does appear to be other players in the pipeline.
I wouldnt be happy if Nolan was in and Zog was out, there would be no midfield advancement in that.
Zog has to stay, third top scorer cannot be allowed to go, he will play even if he moans, he has moaned before nothing new and still played left back again even though he was supposed to be quitting.

Comment #34I am suprise Derby are letting him go on loan, the word down there is they are going into admin and are desperate for money. They are talking about losing points here so –on loan! Very much doubt they would agree to that!!

Comment #40leekirtley, thats a good call for the scorers 🙂 wonder what odds you’d get for Nolan to be first scorer lol!!
Here’s a question for many of you…when you put your team selection on here, why do ALOT of you put Duff upfront when MO/Oba are not available?? We have some decent lads that are natural strikers and you put him up there lol! I want to see Ranger, Carroll & even Smith up there before Duffer :p
