Joe Kinenar has surprisingly admitted today that both the Given and N’Zogbia transfers are not as certain as they may seem, since the club have not acceptable bids for the players from Manchester City or Wigan Athletic respectively.
Joe Kinnear – looked terrible today
Once again we cannot take these reports about a deal being reached for Given with any reality, but we have been told that Given has been undergoing a medical at Manchester City while N’Zogbia has been linked with a deadline-day move to Wigan.
However, Kinnear has admitted that he is not totally confident of either deal being struck because neither club has put money on the table so far:
“There’s haggling going on at the moment. We’re still waiting to hear the fee,”
“We haven’t received an official offer for Shay (Given) and we’re still waiting for Charles (N’Zogbia).”
“The chairman is speaking to their representatives, so hopefully something can be done so that we can move on and get two more decent players into the club.”
“I’m confident that we’ll get those. But I’m not sure about the outgoing deals at the moment.”
We wonder if those two players include Ryan Taylor, but it looks like at least one other player is coming in, and we hope that is a defender, because our back line still looked too weak again today.
Newcastle should stand their ground on both players, because we don’t want to give our players away, and we can use both in the run-in to the league – even babyface N’Zogbia would be forgiven if he comes back – well at least until the summer. 😀
And talking about Joe Kinnear we have to say Joe looked terrible at the game today. He looked like he hadn’t slept for a week, and the pressure was showing on him today, all over his face.
And he seems to have piled on a few pounds because of the enormous pressure he’s been taking all alone. That’s because the Board have been absent without leave, although now hopefully they will support Joe more, not that Ashley and Llambias were at the game today.
Let’s remember this man is doing everything he can to save the Newcastle club, and we think it unfair, to say the least, when our own fans turn on him, and don’t give him a break.
The Newcastle fans were just great today, and the lads gave it all they had in the second half, and they deserved the great support they received.
We unashamedly ask all Newcastle fans to support the players and Joe through the end of the season, and if the fans can become the 12th man for the team, we’ll have a decent chance of surviving.
But please give Joe a break, whether you love him or hate him. For goodness sake, he’s only human.
