Peter Lovenkrands is no stranger to the atmosphere of a derby day, as he’s been in Glasgow’s famous clashes between Rangers and Celtic. during his time with Rangers.
Peter Lovenkrands will be looking for goal today
Peter is desperate today to be on the winning side with Newcastle United, in the Tyne-Wear showdown with Sunderland at St. James’ Park.
With owner Mike Ashley attending, and showing more than a little bravery, this is shaping into a water-shed event for Newcastle and a poor display from the home team, and the disaster of all disasters – another defeat, and the Newcastle fans’ significant frustrations with the owner will probably overflow.
With still one day left in the transfer window, maybe that will force Newcastle into more action, since we still need another 2-3 players coming in before 5:00 pm tomorrow.
Peter, who is keen to play for Denmark again said yesterday:
“I’ve played in the Glasgow derby which is very famous and I’ve managed a few goals in those games.”
“We know this game will be intense and it will be very exciting for me. Hopefully if I get the chance to play I can get a goal.”
“I also managed to score for Schalke in the derby against Dortmund, so I’m hoping I can make it three out of three.”
It will be the first time for many fans to see Peter play, and we have to hope we see some of that skill and speed from him, not to mention a goal, and that would be fantastic.
Newcastle fans’ spirits have been lifted with the signing of Kevin Nolan, who will make his debut today, and of course a win would see the possible start of a resurgence from the beleaguered Newcastle team.
We’ve got to hope for the very best this afternoon, but we were more than a little depressed after losing on Wednesday night, and it would be hard to take another defeat, very hard to take indeed, especially against Sunderland at home.
