Peter Lovenkrands Looking For A Goal Today

Peter Lovenkrands is no stranger to the atmosphere of a derby day, as he’s been in Glasgow’s famous clashes between Rangers and Celtic. during his time with Rangers.

Peter Lovenkrands will be looking for goal today

Peter is desperate today to be on the winning side with Newcastle United, in the Tyne-Wear showdown with Sunderland at St. James’ Park.

With owner Mike Ashley attending, and showing more than a little bravery,  this is shaping into a water-shed event for Newcastle and a poor display from the home team, and the disaster of all disasters – another defeat, and the Newcastle fans’ significant  frustrations with the owner will probably overflow.

With still one day left in the transfer window, maybe that will force Newcastle into more action, since we still need another 2-3 players coming in before 5:00 pm tomorrow.

Peter, who is keen to play for Denmark again said yesterday:

“I’ve played in the Glasgow derby which is very famous and I’ve managed a few goals in those games.”

“We know this game will be intense and it will be very exciting for me. Hopefully if I get the chance to play I can get a goal.”

“I also managed to score for Schalke in the derby against Dortmund, so I’m hoping I can make it three out of three.”

It will be the first time for many fans to see Peter play, and we have to hope we see some of that skill and speed from him, not to mention a goal, and that would be fantastic.

Newcastle fans’ spirits have been lifted with the signing of Kevin Nolan, who will make his debut today, and of course a win would see the possible start of a resurgence from the beleaguered Newcastle team.

We’ve got to hope for the very best this afternoon, but we were more than a little depressed after losing on Wednesday night, and it would be hard to take another defeat, very hard to take indeed, especially against Sunderland at home.

Comments welcome.

A Mackem double over us is, i thought, was unthinkable but thats all i’m worrying about !

To be honest its a game that we must win, dare lose and to draw would help neither team. Its all about the ‘W’ today!

I’d take a last minute own goal by Cisse today, we just need the win!

Just popped out and bought the Sunday Sun, its weekly transfer news has us linked with:

Veloso, who JFK called a realistic target
Garcia, who JFK has spoken with his agent
and states he could go back for M’Bia and a Uruguaian CB called Lugano at Fener……this is all after a failed bid for Hyypia.

But lets get real here, in reality there is about 8 hours left of the transfer window. Between 9 and 5 tomorrow! Cant see much action.

Hyypia may consider his future at Liverpool. He was left out Liverpool’s champions league squad and he’s gutted.
    I hope we sign him!

Hyypia is hoping to stay at ‘Pool as he wants a coaching role when his contract is up.

Rafa doesnt want to lose him either

I reckon Johnson will amost certainly be part of the Given deal, that Taylor is pretty much wrapped up, and that we’ll get another 2 in before 5pm tomorrow. Would actually be a good position to be in – especially with losing a negative influence (and a smelly one at that apparantly!) in Le Sulk.
I just hope whatever happens in the transfer window isn’t soured by the tragic event of a loss today! To be honest, even a draw would be tragic!

    LOVE IT, FROM NUFC.COM:

    The wide awake club

This one has got nowt to do with Cockneys, shirkers, sleepwalkers, crocks, bottlers or anyone else…

Regardless of who is on the field or in the Directors Box; regardless of who manages or owns the club, we play a game on Sunday that has a massive significance to our immediate future – not to mention regional pride.

The mackems haven’t completed a double over us since the 1966/67 season – let’s not make Sunday the day
when we give an inch – or air our dirty linen in public.

Borrowing a phrase: Support the Toon – it’s your duty

    Sums it up for me!

I only seem confident that we will sign another two, because surely even Mike Ashley wouldnt be stupid enough to take in a possible £15m+ from Given/Zog and not re-invest! I think he would genuinelly have a geordie lynch mob after him, because that would be pretty much seen as theft from most fans!

All these players coming in at the last minute. Is Fat Fred back again?
Will we have to get a bigger bus?
What happened to the Argie and Italian Loaners?
Can we call Kinnear the Loan Arranger?
    Who is Tonto?
Is Daniel Fox actually Glenn Roeder with a facelift?
In the Kinnear family was Roy actually the comedian?
If Ashley does turn up then you have to admit that he’s got balls.
Will Harper be able to cope with the pressure of being our number one Number One?
Is Ashley going to hide behind a human shield of new signings?
Cant wait to get home get the feet up and get the box on.

Insomnia leaving is the best bit of transfer business we’ve done in a long time.

I would seriously consider never purchasing another Frenchman again due to his behaviour.

Possibley abit OTT but the French are generally ignorant, pigheaded pains, its such a shame they have such wonderful footballing talent!

(Sorry Bassong, you are of course the excpetion to my own ignorant pighead opinions 😉 )
