Kinnear Over The Moon To Get Ryan Through The Door

Well we have at least one more new player through the door in Ryan Taylor, and we’ve sold both Shay Given and Charles N’Zogbia, so the club still has money to spend.

joe-kinnear-and-ryan

Two very happy people 😀
We’ll just have to wait about another hour to see if we’ve managed to bring in any other players.

But Joe Kinnear seems very happy to get Ryan Taylor through the door and said after the signing today to nufcTV:

“I’m over the moon to get Ryan because he is still a young player but one with a lot of experience.”

“He’s played nearly 200 career games and is still only 24.”

“His versatility is tremendous, he can play on the left or the right and in defense or midfield.”

“He’s a total footballer in that he’s got two good feet and is very good on the ball.”

“He’s another Scouse lad like Kevin Nolan with a great character and we’re very happy to get him on board.”

Taylor is still just 24 years old but already has 195 career games under his belt.

Right now we have one more player in the squad than we had on January 1st.

He is Newcastle 3rd signing of the window,  with just one hour to go before before the deadline, so we really hope we get at least two more in before the deadline.

We are almost sure we’ll get Daniel Fox, 22 year-old left back from Coventry, if all goes well, and hopefully 20 year-old Michael Johnson from Manchester City, and they would be two more excellent signings.

Here’s hoping.

Typical of the prats who run the club at the moment if they really wanted Johnson why didn’t they make it part of the Given deal. No Johnson no Given. What a load of BS come out of this club at the moment. All the goodwill from yesterday’s 2nd half performance will disappear unles we sign at least 2 more players apart from the 3 we’ve signed so far in January.

Setanta say deal is close to being agreed…..

sky need to get there sources sorted

Baggage??….once away from “home” and bad influences he will settle down and sort himself out….we have another scouse lad who is turning his life around after various problems inluding drink ….joey would be a good shaperone (spelling) for the lad…..

Bags of ability….reminds me of a certain young Mr Carrick….and look how he turned out…

Let me get this straight. Last Jan Keegan stated we need cover for left back, no left back signed.

Summer Keegan stated we need cover at left back, no left back signed.

This January JFK stated we need cover at left back, again no left back signed.

We most have the most incompetent recruitment team In the whole football league, never mind the premiership!

Here I reckon this is it…Disappointing but not COMPLETELY disastrous (remember when we were only gunna get 2 loan signings).

I’m not condoning how slow we’ve been. BUT I want everyone to remember a few things!

    1) We only just wrapped up Given and N’Zogbia last night and this afternoon respectively.
    2) We’re no longer high fliers – we’re in a relegation battle and haven’t had european footy in a few years!
    3) We tried to do common sense stuff – Johnson wouldn’t get a game at city, not our fault he didn’t come (though they don’t really need to sell anyone)
    4) We covered the absolute necessary positions (RB, CM) with decent players, we KNOW we’re shipping players out in the summer and will rebuild the squad then.

I’m not happy, but I’m not jumping on any bed sheet carrying band-waggons either!

Jokeinhere over the moon – WHY?

the best we can hope for is 0-0 with the forwards we currently have availble and the lack of creativity – not one midfielder that can cross the ball consistently

Beyethegreat – true, I don’t know why it took so long for City, I can only assume we wanted players or more cash?

As for Zog, Wigan only launched their interest after Palacios left and it was THEM who were stalling, we had Taylor watching us play yesterday and at the club the day before.

Milner, Given and Zog must of brought in excess of 25million – add the 20million apparently fatash was willing to stump up – cant see that we have spent any of it (Taylor 1.5, Nolan 4)

Fat Ash is taking the p and the cash

Disapointing window but at least we have a couple of players in and taylor is versatile.

On the upside though we have a few players coming back from injuries so that should be refreshing for the team

magpies1 – I applaud your optimism but this squad was paper thin and we have done nothing to strengthen it – Its as though Assley would be happy to go down and get rid of the “stars” – after all the Sky parachute money is still piad
