The Newcastle United club have reported they have completed the signing of Wigan Athletic utility player Ryan Taylor with Charles N’Zogbia heading in the other direction.
Ryan Taylor – another terrific signing for Newcastle United
The 24-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half year deal at St. James’ Park and will wear the No.16 shirt for Newcastle United.
And a delighted Taylor told nufcTV:
“It’s fantastic. This is a massive opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get started.”
“You only have to look at the game against Sunderland and the Newcastle fans to realize why I have signed for the club.”
Great comment by Ryan, and he wants to come to Newcastle, and those are the only players we want at the club.
Liverpool-born Taylor began his career at Tranmere Rovers and scored 19 times in 122 outings for the Wirral-based club.
A £750K move to the JJB Stadium followed in 2005 where he netted seven goals, four against United, in 73 appearances.
Ryan can play ion either full back spot and on either wing, he has a terrific free kick, and he has a very good long throw in – and those are just a few of the reasons Newcastle have got a very good player into their squad.
And with all our injuries, Ryan will be very useful by being able to slot into many different positions, and he’s going to get a lot of games for Newcastle, that’s for sure.
No word yet on the money involved, although The Mail reported this morning it was £8M and Taylor for Charles, but that sounds a little high.
A great signing – no doubts at all!
We welcome Ryan Taylor to Newcastle United – and we are simply delighted to have him at our club. 😀
