Fabio Zamblera – sent on loan to Sampdoria

The news that’s on the web site is that UEFA Cup hopefuls UC Sampdoria have bolstered their squad with the double signing of teenager Fabio Zamblera and Italy Under-18 captain Roberto Soriano

The 18-year-old Zamblera, a 6’3″ striker, arrives on loan from Newcastle United FC with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

We haven’t seen much of Zamblera in the Reserves so perhaps he’s not developing as well as Newcastle would have liked.

Of course we have Andy Carroll at 20, and up-and-coming Nile Ranger at 17, who are both top young strikers, with Carroll already performing well in the first team.

Fabio was signed last January, on a four and a hald year deal, for an undisclosed fee from Atalanta.

He has represented Italy at Under-18 levels, and presumably could join Sampdoria in the summer if he plays well in the interim.

We would expect Newcastle United to make this official on their web site.

By reports and various comments he was very poor, lightweight and din’t have much work rate. Only scored 1 goal for us and that was a penalty in the u-18!

Saw him play v Liverpool reserves on LFCtv, he was poor, the gulf in class between him and Ranger was huge.

Every time i saw him looked light weight and couldn’t physically handle the English league. Rnager, Carroll and Wesley Bo Haeng look far better. How long till Wesley is fit? Anyone know?

Nope it didn’t, absolute gutted. I feel a fair stretch shti today and do apologise i ahd it on good word there would be a late breakthrough and Ashley + lambias were still indoors with a player till midnight. Don’t know much else but didn’t happen, i’m interested to see if ti’s picked up on though. Loan signing may still happen will ask and see if can get much else on it.

If the “new structure” must work I hope Newcastle wont give up on youngsters in just one year. He might be crap now but hes only 18 so I hope will come back and develop into whatever the club had hoped for

If we stay up, I want Steve Bruce. Wise and Lambarse can go with Steve Bruce coming in as manager. There is no way he would reject us if we sacked wise. STEVE BRUCE-it starts here.

I saw the Liverpool reserve game on TV & he did not look the part at all. With Carroll, Ranger & others like Donaldson & younger ones like Speers he wasn’t going to make it at the toon

You just never know with kids-Chopra was supposed to be the new sensation because he scored lots in the Reserves but he turned out average at best. Ranger might be a success then again he might not.

Its all done and dusted now. Nothing we can do now about the players we have. I think we all wanted a couple more in but, we should just back the ones we have and hope they can keep us up!

Big match on Saturday. West Brom are a better footballing side than us. But if we take the performance from the 2nd half against Sunderland we should get a decent result.

    Harper
    S Taylor Colo Bassong Jose
    Duff Nolan Butt R Taylor
    Carroll Martins

Subs: Krul, Edgar, Lovenkrands, Ameobi, Smith, Geremi, Lua Lua.

The squad is looking a bit stronger. Especially when we get Jonas back from Suspension and hopefully Guthries injury isn’t too bad!

I don’t care what you think Graeme you and Ryan are two of the most negative people on ehre consistantly. I hear somehting so i tell people what i have been directly told to pass on hope sorry. And yes you have really brought alot of credability on here yourself. To be fair i never said it ‘would happen’ all i said was i was passing on info. That is it. No-one has more credability than anyone else.

Who came on a spouted absolute guff – you.

Find me one post where I have stated the sh*t you did last night about signings.

Tino, I think we need to change the formation we havent won in 7 or something.

    ——————-Harper——

    R.Taylor–S.Taylor(colo if fit)–Bassong–Jose

    –Nolan—-Butt—Smith–
    Martins Duff
    Carrol

    Ameobi, Krul,Lovenkrands, Geremi,Xisco,Ranger, Donaldson

Give Martins the same kind of role as Messi at Barca, dont expect him to track back but start him on the right so he can join in but use his pace on the counter.

I did know something, something that i was told and that was true so passed it on, not that i was there and saw the player, all i said was that i had been told tht somehting was happening behind the scenes. At the end of the day if you don’t beleive me or want to listen then don’t replay or comment to the stuff i said. Easy as that, i was informing on what was happening. I still am in the process of discovering who/what went wrong

I have a sneaking suspicion that we aren’t spending much in the transfer windows cos MA and Co. are hoping that the youngsters will be good enough to step up for next season. They are also hoping we can somehow sneak enough points to stay up. I still think MA is a street trader who has done ok for himself but I wouldn’t buy a used car from him.
If he does somehow pull it off then in years to come we will probably be venerating him, it’s a bloo*y big IF though.

We need to do something different I suppose, I’m looking forward to Nicky Butt not taking the free Kicks. Ryan Taylor has good delivery and a good long throw. Might give us some more opportunity to create some chances.

Lloydie – as was said last night – we have heard it all before since the transfer window opened, the one before that and again the one before that so when you popped up out of the blue last night after the window shut and everyone was clearly peeed off somewhat – you attempted to stir up sh*t again with you heard from a relaible source, mate whatever guff.

If you had come on with an honest opinion then granted and it would be accepted, but to what you can call the ‘regulars’ on here, what you were going on about was just rubbish and an attempt to make yourself look like you knew something – which you proved F**k all.

I am personally happy with the transfer window.

1 outfield player out and 3 in (2 of which play multiple positions) – This gives the squad much more depth.

Yes we sold given, but if we didn’t get rid or Given or Harper then we would probably have lost Krul.

The squad will be more together now as we have players who want to play for us.

Yes we banked 8 – 10 million, but just cause its there does not mean it must be spent. If we had wasted it on Richardson, we would all be saying why didn’t we wait till the summer and get someone decent.

I am not Ashley’s biggest fan, but I feel he had been badly advised by Dennis Wise & Co. and hopefully come the next window they will be gone.

In the summer we will loose Viduka, Owen, Cacapa on Free’s and maybe sell Geremi, Smith, Barton.

That should be at least 6 – 8 million in transfer fee’s and about 350k per week off the wage bill. Good scope to bring fresh blood to the club and get some youngsters through.

I think the current wage bill is the biggest issue and not that we don’t have funds for transfers.

    Just my thoughts anyway…

I actually thought S. Taylor did OK at RB on Sunday. It was when he was in the centre that the problems were caused. I think the 2 taylors played a lot together for the under 21’s. I’m not too sure about Lovenkrands, we haven’t really seen much of him.

Not sure if Colo and Carroll are actually injured. Physio room just put them down as injured as they came off against Sunderland with knocks. So more than likely they will be back. But with Newcastle’s luck we won’t see them till May.

Jonas probably doesn’t get as many assists as we would like. But you can’t help but like him. I see Smith is in line for a comeback. I wonder if Joe can get him fired up and get him to do a job. I think he is a good character to have back. Plus, along with Smith, the signings of Taylor and Nolan we will have a bit of fight and passion, which we need for the relegation battle ahead.
