Lovenkrands, Ryan Taylor Both Start – Martins Out

wba-badgenufc-crest4

New signings Peter Lovenkrands and Ryan Taylor are handed their full debuts for a purple-stripped Newcastle United at The Hawthorns this afternoon.

Ryan Taylor, signed last Monday from Wigan, will start on the right side of midfield while Danish striker Lovenkrands lines up alongside Shola Ameobi in attack.

The back five remains the same from that which featured in last weekend’s Tyne-Wear derby, while Mark Viduka, Alan Smith and Claudio Cacapa all return to the substitutes’ bench after injury layoffs.

Oba Martins is not even on the bench, so that is a big surprise, and hardly good news for Newcastle.

Fraser Forster is the substitute goalkeeper today.

    WBA’s midfield looks weak.

Butt and Nolan should control that.

However our problem will be the same as it was against The Mackems, we ahve nowt up top!

Bloody hell, is Oba injured again? That’s the only reason I can think of for him not even making the bench…

the team is the best we can put out at least Lovenkrands can add some pace, my concern is theres nowt on the bench if (and hopefull a big if) things go wrong, 3-1 to the toon

I really don’t see why we have deadwood on the bench like Cacapa and Geremi…surely the youngsters we have invested in should at least be given some representation.

Krul’s not out on loan? Interesting that Forster has been getting the nod…

WBA is a dangerous team, they are desperate to win their home games. They play with more urgency and fight unlike our own club that is comfortable with just being above the relegation zone. Hope that we can win this though, or it will be detrimental for the club’s relegation fight.

Well at least if we need to we can inject some pace into the game from the bench….not.

I have to say I would start Viduka, or not have him in the team at all. Chances are if you sub him half way through the game there is a good chance he’ll get injured and we’ll be two subs down….

Maybe it was Martins who put Kinnear in hospital for trying to sell him. Hence why he isn’t on the bench hah.
