Lovenkrands Confident He Can Carry Goals To Newcastle

Peter Lovenkrands was brought in for nothing and he was probably the lowest rated of the three players Newcastle acquired during January.

Lovenkrands after scoring his first goal for Newcastle!

But that may be changing after Peter put in a sterling display at WBA, and scored the second goal, and was a little unlucky with one or two more half chances he had.

Add to that his brief appearance against Sunderland when he also went close near the end, and Peter has made an excellent start to his Toon career.

He wants to get back into the Danish side, and his form over the last two games has certainly been good enough to allow him to do that. We hope he makes the next squad, but the selectors must have seen the good reports on the lad, and we hope there is more to come.

Peter also likes it at Newcastle, as he fights to get an extended contract in the summer, so he’s also very motivated to do well over the rest of the season.

Peter talked today about playing striker:

“I played my last half season at Rangers as a striker and scored 18 goals and I got one against West Brom playing through the middle so hopefully that convinces people I can play in that position,”

“I love playing as a striker and feel confident that I can get goals. I know that when all of our strikers are fit it’s going to be a real battle to play up front.”

“The team needs points at the moment, so I just want to play and if that means left wing or center-mid then I don’t care, as long as I can be given a chance I’ll not let anyone down.”

This lad could turn out to be an excellent acquisition for the club, because he certainly has an eye for goal, and seemingly can score at any time.

It will be interesting to see how many goals he can score this season, but every one he puts in the net, will go that little bit further to secure that contract in the summer for him, that’s for sure.

No he wasn’t Ed. Lovendkrands is an excellent, highly regarded player who’s had a bit of a bad run in a very good team (Shalke04).

    “The ‘new’ Antoine?..”

Could be better Punk, though Antoine was a great little bargain at the right time.

They can all be excellent Stardust when they’re fit and in form.

Owen might stay yet. I know someone who’s worked with him and she thinks he’s a incredibly arrogant. Like Insomnia, he may think that someone like Arsenal or Aston Villa are going to come along and offer him £120,000 per week wages and a starting place every week. but like the whinging winger, he may end up somewhere like Wigan on alot less than that.

Even if Owen stays he shouldn’ play infront of Martins. Oba stretches defences and creagtes chances for others, Owen couldn’t stretch an elastic band.
