Jonas Gutierrez has yet to open his goal account for Newcastle United, but when he does there will be a special celebration planned.

Jonas Gutierrez – special goal celebration planned

The Argentine winger is back for the game tomorrow against Everton after missing the last game at WSBA because he had picked up 5 yellow cards.

Jonas was really disappointed to miss the great victory at the Hawthorns two weeks ago, but the lad took a lot of enjoyment out of the International break, which resulted in his first goal for Argentina and a good 2-0 win against France.

Jonas was famed for putting on a Spiderman mask during his days at Real Mallorca, and of course Joe Kinnear still refers to him as “spiderman.”

Jonas said today:

“I want to score for the fans.” “I have a celebration planned, but people will only find out what it is when the goal comes.”

“I want to score here very much. I have had chances, but have not scored, so maybe in this game I can do it.”

“I feel very good in the team, and confidence is very important.” “I was not playing (against WBA), but I was very happy, because we needed the three points, and we won. It was very important.”

Reflecting on his first goal ever for Argentina against France, Jonas said:

“It was a great experience to beat France, who are a very good national team.” “I also scored my first goal. For me, it was a very good match.”

“It was a cross and I stopped the ball and shot from inside the area.” “I think it was a great goal!”

Now, though, Gutierrez is focused on the challenge ahead – which is beating Everton tomorrow, in what promises to be a tough game for the lads.

Gutierrez added:

“Everton are doing well, but it is very important to win at home.”

We have three good players in Duff, Ryan Taylor and Gutierrez, fighting it out for starting positions tomorrow, and we’re not sure which two will start, but if Jonas does get into the game, and scores, watch out!

I am celebrating purely due to the fact that he is playing. Martins and Jonas together is going to be something to look forward to and i am keen to see how Lovenkrands plays with them too 🙂

His goal against France was a good one and he seemed really proud to have scored for his country when celebrating, almost looked like he was ready to cry!
I can only imagine what he has planned for his first Toon goal. He seems to love playing for us and appreciates the reception he’s been given by the fans, so im sure his celebration will be something special. Get it tomorrow Jonas!

Silly, staged celebrations irk me, but on the other hand I’d be happy to complain about them if it meant he scored on a regular basis. We need more goals from midfield.

yeah, more goals from the midfielders would be good. How many have they gotten this season?

    Duff : 2
Barton : 1 (from the spot so doesn’t really count)
    Zog : 1
    Guthrie : 1

Is that it? I must have missed one or two?

    In all competitions:

    3 – Duff
    2 – Guthrie, N’Zogbia
    1 – Barton, Milner

Taken from NUFC.com. Two of those aren’t even at the club any more, which says a lot about those who are left.
