Brad Inman Makes Debut For Scotland Under-19 Side

One of Newcastle United’s top young guns, 17 year-old midfielder Brad Inman, made his debut today for the Scotland Under-19 side.

17 year-old Australian-born Inman played for Scotland U-19 side today

The Scots were beaten 3-2 by France in Clairefontaine, after taking a two goal lead, through Burnley youngster Alex McDonald .

Brad Inman joined Newcastle last year, and made his debut for Newcastle U-18s against Liverpool in February of last year, and he had a tremendous game in central midfield in that game, as the bairns held Liverpool 0-0, and Brad was then just 16 years old.

Brad will be another player to watch for the future at Newcastle, and at just 17 years of age, he looks like an excellent player in the making

Burnley midfielder Alex McDonald fired the Scots into a two-goal lead, before the French lads fought back well to claim a late victory with Rennes youngster Yacine Brahimi hitting home the winning goal from the penalty spot.

Inman, a ball-playing midfielder, was making his first appearance for Scotland after accepting the Scottish call-up earlier this month, and the Australian National side had better watch out, if they want to claim this lad for the Socceroos.

Brad will also need to decide who he wants to play for shortly, because while he was born in Adelaide, South Australia, he is also eligible to play for Scotland, because his mother was born there.

Brad has been outstanding for the Newcastle U-18 side this season, and got his first senior call-up for Newcastle earlier this month, when Academy Director Richard Money at that time said:

“I think he deserved the first-team call-up if I’m honest,”   “He’s had a particularly good first season.”

“A number of our first years have done the same but he’s probably shone above the rest.”

“It’s a big boost for everyone involved in the youth program when you get a 17-year-old boy on the bench, it’s a bit special.”

“We like him a lot,” “He’s a good passer, comfortable on the ball and has got a great attitude.”

“He’s still very young but we hope he could have a good future here at Newcastle.”

Yet  another young gun to keep an eye on at Newcastle. 😀

Inman looks like Kaka’ a little bit. But good to see him playing for Scotland. I might have also mentioned this yet here, love the tradition of Scotland National Team!

It’s interesting to see how many of these youngsters we’re buying in are midfielders and strikers – aside of Kadar and Tozer can anyone think of any young defenders we’ve brought in?

I could be really cynical and say that it’s because midfielders and strikers tend to command higher prices later in their career but I won’t as I really want this model Ashley’s putting in place to take us back to where we used to be.

nufc_houlty – but they’re all (by and large) under 20, barely into their adult footballing careers. I’d say give them until next season, then we should start to see the oldest of our kids (Lua lua etc) start breaking through into the first team.

I thought once you made an appearance for one country you were locked in? Or does that only apply to the full men’s national team?

She turns up to some home games, doesn’t she? Read somewhere that she was at SJP at Everton, unless I’m going wrong in the head.

Brazilian Geordie – I thought that was his daughter since she’s been around Mike quite a bit since he bought Newcastle – can only assume Mike’s former wife and her mother must be really good looking. 😀

Sure, Mr. Ed Harrison. And I always heard from the press that Mike’s children used to watch Newcastle’s games at the stands even when he wasn’t attending the games.

Btw, even the guy on the left of the photo that I posted is likely to be Mike’s son, once I’ve heard Mike has 3 children and they’re all fans of the Toon.

I hope this kid and all the kids who come through our current and future academies have a future in professional footy, if they are good enough in our first team.

Ganiyu, go to the Pirate Bay site (just put ‘Pirate bay’ in google), then search for ‘football manager 09’ there.
