Habib Beye Back In Full Training Today

Excellent news today from the Newcastle United club that Senegal International Habib Beye has returned to full training this morning.

Habib Beye – has returned to full training – great news!

And the expectation is that he can return for our next home game against Arsenal a week tomorrow.

Habib suffered ankle ligament damage at Wigan on Boxing Day, after a ridiculous tackle by 20 year-old Wigan midfielder Cattermole, for which the former Middlesbrough player is yet to apologize for.

Newcastle fans will remember that this player also put Joey Barton out of action in our home game against Wigan last November 15th, with another horrendous tackle, for which he received another  yellow card.

But the good news coming out of Newcastle United’s training ground this morning is that Beye, a firm fan favorite on Tyneside, because of his excellent play and never-say-die attitude, is now back in full training.

Coach Chris Hughton said this morning:

“Habib is back in full training which is a huge boost.”

“He’s not only a good player but he’s also a very good character around the place who is extremely popular.”

“We will need people like Habib this season and we’re delighted to have him back.”

Newcastle fans needed some good news today, and it’s very good that Habib will be returning for the last 9 games of the season.

It looks like young local lad and England Under-21 captain Steven Taylor will lose his place, once Habib returns.

We have a quality defence now, just need some backup, another RB and another LB/CB and we are good. We have Kadar for LB/CB

Problem is we have no quality midfielders available to protect the defence.
Though Geremi does this pretty well

Im hoping Nacho comes in sometime and shows the creative spark, setting Oba and Owen through for the goals!

Im sure Habib said he would not be rushing back in an interview on NUFCtv. I do hope that he is on the pitch for Arsenal.

Hull away first and a must win game!

beye should be our captain for next season if owen does leave us .

i guess he is gonna sing up for us once we are gonna surviveand then maybe bring a quality manager in the summer.

i should be kk back because personally liked the football we played under him rather than kinnear or big sam.

there are reports than wise has got a job lined up for him in the summer.

I was just thinking there maight hardly any other fans of Newcastle in India as mostly people go for teams winning cups and leagues like Man U Chelsea LiverPool. But good to see you…

Com’on Newcastle…see you have fans everywhere, who says its just MAN U who have fans worldwide…. Give us something to cheer this week end

wish people would just get over the kevin keegan saga.yes he was our hero, yes he had us playing great football.along with that he has walked out on us 3 times, once he came back.the bloke has the biggest dummy spit in football and if he loved the toon that much he would have stuck it out for at the most 6-7 months then resigned in the summer.

I agree SPIDERPIG – can not say more. I think KK time is over now. Even if he wants to return, club should not go for him. He has left us at wrong time.

For me beye and bassong have been the two highlights of our season.

Seeing as there have been some nostalgia posts of late it got me wondering how many of the current 1st team would have got into the 1996 1st team that beat ManU or the 1997 team that beat Barcelona?

When they are fully fit would you have Owen over Ferdinand? Martins over Tino? Beye over Albert? Bassong over Peacock?

Big Les every time for me, I would have loved to see him and Shearer in a long term pairing for us.
I think Steve has done a good job at right back (apart for the odd ricket) and has shown some good attacking qualities. I would prefer Habib back in his old position and perhaps give Stevie a run in midfield as an alternative to Butt or Geremi. Worth a punt?
