There’s little doubt that tomorrow’s Newcastle game at Hull City, will be a watershed game for the Tyneside club for this season.
Newcastle have won only one game in their last twelve games with just 6 points out of their last 10 league games, and that’s just not good enough for Newcastle to retain their status in the Premier league.
Newcastle have both Nicky Butt and ca[ptain Michael Owen back for the game tomorrow, and we expect Nicky to get a starting place.
Michael Owen has been training now for close to 2 weeks, and he’s looking sharp, from what Chris Hughton has said, so we expect Owen to play some part in tomorrow’s vital game.
Nicky missed the game against his old club Manchester United, and he is obviously glad to be back to try to get Newcastle back on the winning trail.
Good news today that Habib Beye is back in full training, but both he and Danny Guthrie will not be ready for tomorrow’s game. Damien Duff will also not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s game because of injury.
Kevin Nolan will also miss the game, and will be serving his final game of a three match ban for his sending off against Everton.
Kevin will be available for our next home game against Arsenal and so probably will be Danny Guthrie, so it looks like we will have more than a decent squad to pick from for that game.
For tomorow’s game we expect the the side to be almost the same as the side that started against Manchester United, with Nicky Butt replacing Geremi in central midfield.
So this is the team we expect Newcastle to field for tomorrow’s vital game:
Harper
S.Taylor Coloccini Bassong Enrique
R. Taylor Butt Smith Gutierrez
Lovenkrands Martins
Subs: Forster Cacapa Edgar Geremi Owen Ameobi Carroll
We assume that Viduka is still injured (what’s new?) so he’s not included.
Hull City will will see the return to the first team squad of Andy Dawson who missed the win at Fulham due to suspension. But George Boateng is not expected to return from injury until next season along with their record signing Jimmy Bullard, from Fulham.
Hull City are not much better off than Newcastle and the win against Fulham was their first in the league since they beat Middlesbrough in early December.
The keys of the game for Newcastle will, as always, be a strong performance from our defense, where a clean sheet has to be the aim. We also expect the lads to start the game like a steam train – and keep going, and that Chris Hughton will make full use of a strong bench.
Then we would hope that one of the strikers can get the goal or goals that will bring Newcastle a win they desperately need.
Anything less than that will be disappointing, to say the least, for success-starved Newcastle fans.

Comment #47alreet komfort, and lads, sorry, miles away. I just think Barrera has a bit too much class and experience for Khan. I normally go group round betting on boxing and thought the 4-6 @ 8/1 looked good for MAB
toon86, it’s a tasty 25/1 Barrera rnd 1
batty, Amir Khan by Decision or Technical Decision is 2/1
I’ve got to go by my instincts now. Especially now I’ve told people what I reckon.
I LOVE GAMBLING! 😀

Comment #56I’m a Whitley Bay boy Batty, spent all of my youth at the Spanish City in the Amusement Arcades (80-88-ish). Used to rag those bandits like nobody’s business. 😉
…that’s where my love of gambling started – realising that I could play the machines – and win! I can remember walking into Park Chemists on the corner with bulging pocket-fulls of 10p pieces and trading them in for pund notes. Ahh………………..those were the days.
No chance nowadays though. As soon as it went to 20p a shot bandits, winning slowly became less likely. I could go on, but won’t…..(and I’m sure there’s probli other stuff I need to reply to now before I hit submit, so apologies in advance).

batty, I used to get the 308 up to North Tyneside College around ’88 – what a sh1thole that was. Mi fatha’s from Wallsend, Battle Hill, used to meet mi grandad at the top of the steps at Embleton Avenue (street he was born on) when I was a bairn.
You grow up in Wallsend/New York then batty?

Comment #78Hi Like what Safferman-19 said, Looks like something is going against Newcastle. Everytime something goes wrong. I think might be if every fan wish from heart and pray, then things might start going well next season.
First we need win tomorrow. I just can not wait game to start. F****** time is not moving quickly .

Comment #79If we win i think we will stay up, if we loose i think we will go down – a bit heads and tails but time is of the essance and we need points to guarantee survival. If we play with heart we will be ok, we have only done that about 6 times this season . We have more quality, have we more passion and motivation?

…just because I’ve got nothing to hide, my name is Rob, I’m 83, I’m from Whitley Bay (an old-school casual from the 30s, and I may as well add while I’m here, an ex BMXer and Kuwahara Nova owner/racer, who moved to Sheffield to study Graphic Design in 1909, dropped out in 1919, travelled all over the world, re-grasped study in 94 and am now still a Graphic Designer.
…………..Ed, bullshine aside, you run a fantastic blog here mate. I can’t do programming, but if you ever require a new top banner, or any graphics, just give me the nod and I’ll knock some up for you in a flash – all I need is the dimensions. My history is in corporate ID and promotional literature/advertising/design for print, but I do a lot of design work for websites now. Just give me the nod mate and I’ll be pleased to help. I’m sure between all your bloggers there’s a programmer also. No disrespect meant Ed, but the aesthetics of this site could be a bit better
cheers mate
