Real Madrid Reported After 16 Year-Old Haris Vuckic

There is news this morning that Real Madrid are more than interested in our new signing from Ljubljana, Slovenia, 16 year-old central attacking midfield star, Haris Vuckic.

haris-vukcic-23

Haris Vuckic has shown outstanding form at Newcastle

But exactly where this news story has originated from is not known, so we’re not sure how much truth there is in the story.

Haris is the 16 year old attacking midfielder we signed in January from NK Domžale, where he had already made 5 appearances for their first team squad, and the lad doesn’t turn 17 until September.

The word on the youngster is that he’s been outstanding since arriving at the Tynsdie club, and he is expected to be part of the first team squad as early as next season, and when Newcastle signed him the local club called a news conference, he was so highly thought of  in Slovenia.

Vuckic made his first appearance for the Newcastle’s Reserve team on 16th February, when he came off the bench to score the winning  goal against Blackburn Rovers Reserves. And what a goal it was as he brilliantly curled a left foot shot into the corner of the net – quite a debut for the youngster.

And Harris scored his first goal for the Newcastle U-18 side in his debut for the side in their 4-2 away win at Derby on 21st February.

There’s little doubt this lad,who already stands 6’2″ tall, is destined to be an excellent player, if he keeps up the talent he has already shown on Tyneside, and since we are rumored to have paid just £50K for the lad, he’s more than a bargain already.

Of course Arsenal are also after one of older youngsters (if that makes sense) in that they are after Sebastien Bassong, and seem willing to offer £10M for the 22 year-old Frenchman, and that’s 20 times what Newcastle paid FC Metz for him only last August.   But we’d be very surprised if Bassong goes anywhere in the summer, and expect the club to give him a bumper contract, which he deserves.

So it looks like the Newcastle club are doing almost everything right at the Youth level, and we have more than a good  number of world class youngsters already at the club.

If this strategy continues to be as successful as it looks, we’ll have to get used to big club coming after our young guns.

Now if only we can stay in the Premier League this season.

Comments welcome.

we should not sell him full stop!

    Take Manure Vs Leeds/West Ham!

Alan Hanson said United couldn’t win anything with kids (oh well)

Leeds and West Ham sold their talented youngsters and went down!

Real Madrid have a nack of paying ridiculous fees for youngsters who turn out to be great.

Slap a ridiculous price tag on his head, £15 million. I think the lad wants to develop anyway and he wants to break into a team quickly as apparently he turned down Milan for us.

I think in 5 years Inman, LuaLua and Vuckic will be great attacking options for our midfield and save us millions.

Need to get some youngsters playing now, fearless and full of energy…Ranger and Lua Lua surely should start getting some action..it’s alright having great kids but they need a chance to step upto the plate and be counted.

Sorry lads but I watched this lad play against Leeds U18’s and he was ok but nothing special, decent left foot. Destined to be an average Prem player – so I find it hard to believe Real are after him!

Its more than likely sirjasontoon or ronaldeano as they are the 2 who get the most upset by me being on here. I think i killed westoon off by raising his blood pressure as he hasnt been on since his last rtant against me.

Haris Vuckic is an amazing prospect and it doesn’t surprise me that the big clubs are sniffing about.

bennytoon – I don’t understand you mate. You’ve went on in the past about how you believe in Spur’s youth policy (Bastock etc) – no two ways about it, you would be excited if Spurs had signed Vuckic.

    But you didn’t

    We did

    So Ha! 😀

(Let us have something to smile about for God’s sake)

He doesn’t look like I expected and can hold off challenges. He didn’t look as lightweight as most attacking midfielders. When I saw him he reminded me of Ballack in his early 20’s (although in fairness half of the other young lads training with him weren’t as tall – I would like to see him training with the first team).

The whole point that Ashley is missing-good young players come thru-1st team is struggling-player decides to move to more successfull club or more successfull club offers more money or chances to win silverware. Player moves on.
The 1st team must be challenging at the right end of the table.

THE MAGPIE – agreed mate – you need to balance youth with top class first team players – look at the Hammers – they’ve lost Lampard, Carrick, Rio Ferdinand, Defoe, Joe Cole, and Glen Johnson because the other players around them weren’t good enough.

Pons Aelius- If he is any good i am sure we will buy him off you as we do with all your world class players. Gazza, Waddle and Ginola.

Pons Aelius – He appeared to be struggling with the pace, lack of time and aggression against Leeds. But he is 16 so time will tell how he develops I suppose. Appeared to have a good footballing brain on him!
Was quite interesting watched that Adjei and he may have had an off day but he did not look as good as I had hoped! Again I suppose its very early days. They will need time to settle in.
