Owen – Newcastle In Good Hands With Chris Hughton

Newcastle captain Michael Owen has come out today and said the right things about Chris Hughton, which will only serve to bring the Newcastle squad closer together, which is exactly what we need in these rather troubled times.

Michael Owen – he’s always rated Chris Hughton

This is what Michael said today about Hughton:

“I’ve rated Chris since the minute he came to the club. He’s a good coach and a proper man as well. Colin has come in since and he shares those values really.”

“He’s tough but fair, training sessions are good and they know what to do tactically. I think we’re in great hands while Joe Kinnear  is away.”

“Chris is keeping us up to date with how the manager is and obviously we want to see him get better for starters and then, once he is well, back up here at the training ground.”

And with just 10 games left to play for Newcastle to survive this season, Michael seems confident with all the players coming back, and with our terrific supporters, that the team can indeed survive and get the club out of the mess it’s in right now.

Michael added:

“I hope it’s a good time to be coming back for both myself and the team, but it’s not just me who is coming back, there are a few of us who can hopefully have a big impact in these last ten games.”

“It’s nice to be back and it’s nice to come back into a team which is playing with some confidence after the Manchester United game. Okay, we didn’t win it, but we did play well.”

“The manager isn’t here, but we’re in capable hands. There is a good atmosphere at the club and if we’re going to win for anyone it’s going to be for the supporters because they deserve to be in the elite division for many years to come.”

“We’ve got to be big enough and brave enough to go out there and play football for those fans and get them behind us. If we can do that, we will ride that wave of optimism again.”

Good words from Michael and with the pictures on the Newcastle site yesterday of the lads in training, they certainly seem to like a laugh and enjoy the training, which is good to see.

Today’s game  is huge for the Newcastle club, and we’re just hoping we can stem the bleeding and start to win games.

Of course the players will get some terrific support again from the fans, who travel to their away games, and always make themselves heard at the away grounds.

Having the best fans in the land backing you during the run-in to the season, has to be a huge lift for the Newcastle players, that’s for sure.

Howay The Lads.

Got a funny feeling there’s going to be a good performance today with a 3-1 victory.

Just tell the players before the game that Mike Ashley has promised the management that not one player will be sold if we go down.

Once they “know” that they’ll be the ones fighting us out of the fizzy pop leagues if we go down, they’ll put in a shift against Hull…

In good hands to go straight down yes, Hughton and Calderwood are amateurs at this level.

Very worried about todays match, if we loose today I see the probability to go don’t as more than 50%.

Awfully important game, lets hope the players understands that as well.

They can all talk the talk, but when it comes to action, we never see them walk the walk!!!

I’m tired of all these players telling us what we all know… they need to start doing it … as the famous slogan goes … Just DO IT!!!!

Suppose he can’t really say Hughton is a really crap manager who’s got an appalling points tally in his time in charge, even worse than when kinnear is around !!!!
