Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes today’s game at St. James’ Park should be a good one to watch, with both sides going for all 3 points.
Arsene Wenger – both sides will go for win
Arsenal are struggling to make sure they finish in 4th place in the league, as Aston Villa challenge them for a European Champions League position this season. Currently they are tied with Villa on 52 points in 4th place, but have a superior goal difference of 19 against Villa’s 12.
Aston Villa are at Liverpool tomorrow, so Arsene may see an opportunity to pull away from them, with a win at Newcastle this afternoon.
Newcastle and Arsenal meet later this afternoon, with a 5:30 pm kick off time, and Wenger believes that a point is just not good enough for either side.
”A draw for Newcastle is not good enough,”
“The positive thing about the game is that both teams are interested in three points, rather than a draw.”
Wenger is of course only too well aware of Newcastle’s plight, fighting relegation for a third season in a row, but feels the Tyneside team possess the the necessary skill and fortitude to stay up.
Arsene added:
“I believe Newcastle have the quality to stay up. They have stabilised.”
”They had some bad patches during the season but I still think in the last three or four months they have stabilised their results.”
The 6’4″ Wenger, who is 59 years-old, has an opinion on football matters that is very well respected around the world, as one of the top club managers, who has done a fantastic job at Arsenal, since he joined them back in 1996.
And he’s usually right in his predictions about relegation, isn’t he? 😀

Comment #10I switched to BT as my internet provider and took their Vision as a package as well with the Sentanta option so I will not have to feck about with streams today, what a pain that has been.
A draw today and again from the Chelsea game will be good results, then three more wins against the fellow strugglers should just about see us across the line. I remain optimistic.

Comment #13Try again, I switched to BT as my server, with BT Vision +Sentanta so I don’t now have to muck about trying to find a stream.
I reckon a point today and another from Chelsea will be good results . 3 more wins against our fellow strugglers would then hopefully be just enough to get us across the line. Its do-able!
